Fall 2025 Community Services & Resettlement Intern (IINE Manchester)
The International Institute of New England is a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving refugees and immigrants in Boston, MA, Lowell, MA, and Manchester, NH. The Institute offers internships to students, graduate students, and recent graduates with demonstrated interest or experience in supporting refugee, asylee, and immigrant populations. Each internship includes an educational component, through which interns contextualize their experience and reflect on their service.
All internships are unpaid and correspond roughly with the US semester system:
Fall Internship: September through mid-December 2025.
First consideration is given to applicants that can commit at least 16 hours per week over the course of the semester outlined above. Applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of whether their schedule fits the semester system; IINE makes exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Slots fill quickly and candidates are encouraged to apply earlier than the requested date above.
Please note that this internship will be a hybrid format, meaning that some in-person hours at our Manchester, NH office are required.
Community Services and Resettlement Internship Overview
The community services team provides case management and other services to newly arrived refugees, asylees and other clients for up to 90 days after arrival, with some case management services provided after the first 90 days. During this time, staff coordinate the arrival, integration and social services of refugees, asylees, Haitian entrants and other clients after their arrival in the United States. Interns assist the Case Specialists by checking in with clients by phone, helping clients access local transportation and other public services, and ensuring clients understand available resources through cultural orientation workshops.

What You'll Do
Maintain and monitor SNHH's chargemaster(s) and assist in developing system-wide policies and procedures.
Conduct regular and annual CDM reviews to update CPT/HCPCS codes, descriptions, and pricing.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and billing changes affecting the chargemaster.
Verify and process chargemaster changes for accuracy and compliance.
Research Federal and State regulations impacting charge capture and pricing.

This position will be based in thepediatric primary care clinic at Dartmouth Health Clinic in Nashua, NH.
As a member of the Collaborative Care team, you would have the opportunity to work closely with pediatric primary care providers, child psychiatrists, and other clinical staff to care for children and adolescents with behavioral health concerns directly in the primary care setting. Episodes of care are typically brief (up to 12 weeks), employ evidence-based treatments, and may include in-person sessions and telephone outreach calls.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled clinician with experience in or willingness to learn about the Collaborative Care Model. The candidate will also be a strong team player with excellent communication skills and will enjoy working in a busy pediatric primary clinic.
We are offering a $7,500 sign-on/retention bonus for this position. *The bonus is available for external hires only, and certain conditions apply.

Responsibilities
* Triaging incoming referrals, conducting initial evaluations to clarify behavioral health concerns, providing psychoeducation about symptoms and treatments, and developing individualized care plans.
* Utilizing evidence-based treatment protocols to deliver care and closely monitoring patients’ symptoms and response to treatment using validated questionnaires and survey tools.
* Providing brief, evidence-based behavioral interventions such as behavioral activation, motivational interviewing, brief CBT, and parent skills training.
* Supporting psychotropic medication management as prescribed by medical providers, focusing on treatment adherence, monitoring side effects, and effectiveness of treatment.
* Proactively communicating with patients, families, primary care providers, and the consulting child psychiatrist to deliver effective, efficient, and patient-centered care.
* Facilitating connections to specialty mental health or substance use services when patients are in need of higher levels of care.
* Supporting the department’s educational and workforce development mission by providing supervision and learning opportunities for trainees in mental health fields.
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution of higher education, including an internship meeting professional standards.
* Must be able to demonstrate that he or she has provided psychological services, on an inpatient, outpatient or consultative basis in the past 12 months
