Support clients with medication management as needed. Build rapport and provide support to clients while maintaining appropriate boundaries at all times. Transport and attend offsite activities with clients such as meetings, appointments and therapeutic outings. Ensure clients attend all scheduled groups and therapy sessions. How you will make a difference: The Mental Health Specialist assesses clients at start of treatment (reviews as needed), develops and maintains treatment plans, and conducts family collateral and discharge planning. Duties include discussing goals and objectives of proposed treatment plans and establishing a contract with the consumer. Interviewing consumers to team with mental health professionals in determining the needs of individuals or groups on a walk-in/telephone basis; respond to potential suicide or other emergency events. Visit clients, individually or as part of a team, in a variety of living situations, to help assess the mental health needs of individuals and families, observe progress, provide counseling, gather data, and report significant changes in the client's condition to designated professional staff. Division/Program Overview: Yucca Valley Center provides a variety of supportive services for young adults ages 16-25, including mental health, substance abuse, employment, and educational support. The center helps young adults focus on their goals through services that are provided in-office, at home, or in community locations. On-site amenities like showers, laundry, phones, and internet are also available.
