General Notes This position is grant-funded with an expected end date of August 31, 2026. It is designated as a fellowship opportunity for recent graduates of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Eligible candidates must have graduated in either the December 2024 or May 2025 cohorts. Purpose This position aims to professionally develop a recent MSW SHSSW graduate in integrated healthcare service provision through therapeutic evidence-based practice models and measurement-based care approaches to full clinical licensure. Project Overview: Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). Job Summary: Rio Grande LNG Project is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Coordinator to support the well-being of our employees through comprehensive mental health initiatives. As a Mental Health Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive and healthy work environment by providing resources, counseling services, and educational programs aimed at enhancing mental health awareness and resilience among our workforce. The Mental Health Coordinator has the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the well-being of employees in a dynamic and growing project. #LI-VB1 Major Responsibilities: * Develop and implement mental health programs and initiatives tailored to the needs of employees working on the Rio Grande LNG Project. * Conduct assessments and screenings to identify mental health needs and concerns within the workforce. * Provide individual counseling and crisis intervention services to employees dealing with personal and work-related stressors. * Collaborate with onsite medical staff and external mental health professionals to coordinate care and referrals as needed. * Organize and facilitate mental health workshops, support groups, and training sessions to promote mental wellness and resilience. * Serve as a resource and advocate for employees seeking guidance on mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources. * Maintain confidential records and documentation of mental health services provided to employees. * Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health programs through data analysis and employee feedback. * Stay current with industry trends and best practices in mental health care to continually improve program offerings. * Provide recommendations and educational materials to employees. * Bilingual in English and Spanish. Education and Experience Requirements: * Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education or related field and 5-8 years of relevant experience * Licensed or certified in mental health counseling (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW) in the state of Texas. * Certification in Mental Health First Aid or similar programs. Required Knowledge and Skills: * Proven experience in providing mental health counseling and crisis intervention services, preferably in an industrial or project-based setting. * Experience developing and delivering mental health education and training programs. * Strong understanding of mental health disorders, treatments, and therapeutic techniques. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals. * Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. * Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity among employees. * Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion. * Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed to accommodate employee needs. Additional Information: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as required that may include but not limited to nightshift or split shift Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.). Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. The Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) serves as a member of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP). The BHIP is a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals which provides comprehensive, accessible, Veteran-centered mental health care. The MFT assigned to BHIP is responsible for coordinating and providing specialty mental and health therapy with a focus on couples, families, individuals, and groups utilizing systemic health theories requiring expertise in interpersonal relationships with conceptualizations that are distinct from individually oriented therapies. The MFT conducts assessment interviews, develops treatment plans and provides treatment to eligible Veterans. Treatment modalities may include crisis intervention, intake evaluations, outreach services as well as empirically based treatment for families, couples, and individuals with mental health disorders. The MFT may refer clients to other programs and professionals as appropriate. The MFT also participates in and provides consultations to other team members; participates in conjoint emergency treatment with medical facility mental health personnel. The Marriage and Family Therapist: * provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services which requires skill in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities. This includes individual, group, couples, and/or family psychotherapy as well as advanced level psychosocial and/or case management interventions used in treatment of Veterans with a range of DSM diagnoses, including substance abuse/dependence, family issues, and poly-traumatic injuries. * Utilizes knowledge of current professional marriage and family practices. Experiences must have required use of knowledge, skills and abilities associated current professional marriage and family practice working with couples, families, individuals, and/or groups utilizing family systems theory/therapy as well as the ability to diagnose and treat mental health disorders. * may be responsible for the clinical supervision of MFT's for licensing purposes only provided they have an AAMFT approved supervisor credential. * may serve as the representative for Psychology Service on various Psychology Service, Mental Health Service Line, System or VISN administrative committees or work groups as assigned. * provides subject matter consultation to colleagues and students on the psychosocial treatment of patients treated in the specialty area, rendering professional opinions based on experience and expertise and role modeling effective practice skills.
