This is a pivotal role in driving people practices outcomes by designing and driving our national strategy for psychological safety, workforce resilience, and healthy work environments. Key Responsibilities: * Leads the creation and management of PP Workplace Environment & Mental Health strategy and design of programs, policies, and procedures, utilizing benchmarking to establish progressive people practices. * Works with cross-functional teams to design innovative processes, policies, and programs, ensuring alignment across the Centers of Excellence, to deliver a best-in-class employee experience in our Workplace Environment & Mental Health services. * Enhance mental health awareness and leadership skills development through programs, tools, and resources. * Define and implement an enterprise mental health and work environment strategy aligned with DPR's values and safety priorities. * Create an inclusive workplace environment which strives to be stigma-free through development of resources that fosters workforce resilience, psychological safety, and mental wellbeing. * Prepares and monitors analytics and metrics to benchmark, measure impact of programs & outreach initiatives on safety, retention, and employee engagement and recommend solutions. * Oversees work completed by external providers, assisting in contracting and holding to account the vendor service level agreements. * Establishes a strong relationship with the Mental Wellbeing Employee Resource Group Leadership Team and ERG Sponsors. * Provides strategic and tactical support for Enterprise initiatives such as Mental Health Awareness Month, Suicide Prevention Month and Construction Inclusion Week. * Partner with EHS, people practices, and operations teams to integrate well-being into field practices and project delivery. * Serve as an internal thought leader and external representative on mental health and work environment. Education Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required. * Advanced degree in a behavioral science field (applied linguistics, psychology, sociology, or related) is a plus. * Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus. * Deep knowledge of stigma and cultural barriers to mental health in Veteran and Hispanic immigrant communities. * Experience in construction or related industries, with an appreciation for "in the field" realities and workforce dynamics. Work Experience * 4-8+ years of related experience and training; Behavioral Science expertise with construction experience is a plus. * 3+ years in internal consulting, with demonstratable skills in change management and analytics. * 3+ years in designing and managing mental health or wellness outreach programs. Background Since 1976, St. Joseph Center has been meeting the needs of low-income and homeless individuals and families in Venice, Santa Monica, Mar Vista, and surrounding communities. The Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization that assists people without regard for religious affiliation or lack thereof through comprehensive case management and integrated social service programs. Job Description Job Summary The Mental Health Specialist works as a team member multi-disciplinary homeless street outreach team, in collaboration with social service professionals, ensuring the delivery of quality care in accordance to the rules and regulations established by the Los Angeles Department of Health Services for contracted agencies, as well as adhering to the mission of St. Joseph Center. The E6 MDT Mental Health Specialist will use the “whatever it takes” approach and strong clinical lens to help people experiencing homelessness get connected to resources, and mental health supportive services, in order to obtain permanent housing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Mental Health Specialist's key areas of responsibility include: Key Areas of Responsibility: Provide street based outreach, navigation, and mental health support to individuals experiencing homelessness. Provide support and assistance to clients with accessing resources in the community. Establish and maintain professional and positive relationships with staff, clients, and community providers. Provide mental health assessment and interventions to the severe and persistently mentally ill. Link clients to appropriate bridge/interim housing programs and assist them in completing required paperwork in order to enroll them in permanent housing programs. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, conferences, program evaluation and program development. Essential Duties: Implement case management service plan goals, emphasizing coordinated strategies for addressing mental health/substance abuse issues, relapse prevention, medication management, and any other risk factors that could impede permanent housing and provide ongoing assessment of client progress in attaining goals. Build trust and rapport with individuals experiencing homelessness. Assess homeless individuals utilizing the DSM-V. Utilize a harm reduction model when working with clients with chemical dependency or abuse issues. Link clients to appropriate bridge/interim housing programs and assist them in completing required paperwork in order to enroll them in permanent housing-related programs. Keep highly organized files for each client and enter appropriate data into the region's Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). Assist clients to enroll in mainstream benefits and obtain identification (i.e. California Driver's License, Social Security Card). Must be able to operate a motor vehicle to perform the essential functions of the position, which includes transporting clients in company vehicles. Provide bus tokens, bus passes, taxi vouchers, and/or direct transportation as needed. Perform daily follow-ups and wellness checks on existing clients and on all new referrals. Participate in SPA 5 case conferencing meetings and other community meetings. Coordinate with other outreach teams in joint outreach efforts and attend to special requests from the Coordinated Entry Systems Team. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, Housing First, and Critical Time Intervention. Experience: Two years' experience providing street-based services to highly vulnerable populations. Demonstrate experience with providing mental health assessments using diagnostic criteria from the DSM-V Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, human services or a related field. Direct Reports: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Ability to use widely supported internet browsers. Ability to accurately enter data in to L.A.
