DESCRIPTION The Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LPC, LMFT, or LCSW) will assist individuals, groups, and families through the counseling relationship by working through their presenting problems, defining their counseling goals, and developing action plans to resolve lifes challenges. The Licensed Mental Health Clinician is part of an integrated team of administrative and clinical peers who provide professional, and confidential counseling services with a distinctively Christian approach. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental health problems. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Ability to practice active listening skills to best react and understand how new information can impact current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Ability to use appropriate training, instructional methods, and techniques/procedures based upon the situation and current qualifications. Ability to effectively communicate via written and verbal communication. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Be a committed Christ follower Requires a Masters degree in Counseling or Social Work or related field or education equivalent to a Masters degree from an accredited college or university. An active and in-good-standing LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW license with the Virginia Department of Health Professions. Current and up-to-date CAQH profile Current Professional Liability Insurance Complete all required background checks including drug tests. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in substance abuse/addiction treatment and a passion for helping individuals navigate their recovery journey. In this role, you'll help clients ages 18+ to break the cycle of addiction and return to their families and communities from a place of resilience. This role involves providing support, guidance, and counseling to clients dealing with substance use disorders, ensuring they receive the necessary tools and resources for a successful recovery. Responsibilities Include: Completion of intake after pre-assessment. Developing individualized service and treatment plans. Presenting clients in treatment team meetings. Conducting individual counseling sessions with clients. Conducting didactic lectures, client groups, and other therapeutic activities. Maintaining contact with appropriate individuals. Working hand and hand with Case Management, along with other teams involved in client treatment and recovery journey. Supporting discharge and referral planning. Responsible for meeting documentation requirements for all accreditations, state license guidelines and for billing purposes in a timely and complete manner. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS Master's degree in Addictions Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred. In lieu of Masters education, Bachelors or Associates education in related field with experience working in substance abuse/addiction treatment required.
