We are seeking a talented MentalHealth Specialist, Court Liaison to join our team of nearly 500 employees. The MentalHealth Specialist, Court Liaison, works with justice involved individuals, who are diagnosed with a mental illness, through their transition into treatment and services in the community. The Court Liaison will have a primary role in Monroe County MentalHealth Treatment Court and attend all Court appearances to provide routine progress updates of assigned participants on active caseload. This role requires significant collaboration between the Court systems and local treatment/service systems; attention to deadlines, Court requirements and completion of documentation in a timely manner is essential.
CCSI is partnering with Monroe County Office of MentalHealth to hire a MentalHealth Specialist, Court Liaison This position is employed by CCSI and working on behalf of Monroe County Office of MentalHealth.
In this role, you will
Have a routine presence as liaison in Monroe County MentalHealth Treatment Court
Maintain caseload of estimated 35-45 participants
Record progress notes in comprehensive, timely manner and complete all reporting as required by the Monroe County Office of MentalHealth and MentalHealth Treatment Court
Participate in case review meetings with direct Court staff, as scheduled
Receive assigned cases, review and/or formulate recommendations, submit referrals based on client needs
Recommend adjustments to treatment plans, advocates for equity and system movement to support individual identified needs
Obtain status updates and feedback from direct providers and Court officials to assist with development, and implementation of performance improvement activities for participants
Assess discharge planning needs of individuals being released from local jails, hospitals and other treatment agencies and interact with other personnel as needed for release planning
Communicate in a professional manner, orally, written and/or electronically, as a representative of Monroe County to all Court and community providers and partners
Be culturally responsive to the population being served in the development, design, monitoring, evaluation and/or implementation of programs and services.
Have working knowledge of the local behavioral health and social services network to assist with matching individuals with appropriate resources to promote health, wellness, and recovery
Use team approach in working with Socio-Legal Center staff, Courts and community partners.
Incorporate a recognition of diverse clientele into daily activities.
Recognize and value diversity within the work environment. Participate as member of CCSI team in valuing individual differences and supporting one another's opportunity to achieve their greatest potential. Remain culturally responsive to population being served in development, design, monitoring, evaluation and/or implementation of programs and services.

Requirements:
What You Bring
BSW, BS, BA in MentalHealth, Social Work, or Human Services related area with 2-3 years of experience in the behavioral health OR Human Services related field
Required for this position are:
A flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and Court scheduling
Ability to satisfactorily complete required background screenings (criminal, SCR, driving, and Monroe County Jail)
Valid Class D New York State Driver License and access to reliable transportation to meet transportation requirements of position

About the Program and Family Preservation Counselor Position:
The Family Preservation Program (FPP) serves families that have a child/children at risk of foster care placement or who are in need of intensive therapeutic services. The Family Preservation Program partners with Ontario County families in their homes for 4-6 weeks and provides therapy 3-5 times a week.
This program makes a difference by reducing the risk of removal and reducing reports received by child protective services. The Family Preservation Counselor's role in all of this is working with families and individuals within the families to identify parental and youth strengths. They also support the family's efforts to create a stronger family goal to advance a stable and nurturing family environment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently and with considerable latitude for autonomous judgment performs complex psychosocial assessments and diagnostic formulations for patients and their families when indicated. Provides compassionate care to all animals in the shelter
Counsels families who are thinking of rehoming their pets about alternate solutions, including self-rehoming, behavior or medical intervention or other programs as available. Works closely with the behavior department and clinic to help keep pets in homes
Schedules animal admissions for Lollypop Farm through the admissions appointment request system and by monitoring and maintaining the admission's phone line with the goal of connecting directly to clients; returns messages to any client who left a message within one hour during normal working hours
Counsels customers who are surrendering their pets to the shelter. Ensure accuracy of recorded information and process paperwork to admit animals to the shelter
Exercises patience and tact when working with the community
Assists with evaluating animals for placement, including recording and handling for canine behavior evaluations
