We are seeking a Transitional Youth Behavioral Health Specialist I or II to join our team.
Starting Salary: $ 17.00 - $ 20.00 Hourly
Shift: Saturday/Sunday 7pm to 7am and/or PRN
We are seeking a Transitional Youth Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. Your role will oversee clients in daily activities while teaching new skills, ensuring safety, and managing behaviors. As a member of the Pathways team, you will work with other team members and report to our Program Manager.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Responsible for direct supervision and safety of all clients
Responsible for proper behavior management of children through the use of behavior management techniques.
Build healthy relationships with clients and be a role model of healthy behaviors
Have a working knowledge of the child's treatment plan and objectives and structure activities to support that plan.
Responsible for creatively structuring activities for groups and conducting psycho-educational groups.
May be responsible for medication administration and other medical support.
Responsible for the review/writing of all required documentation.
Responsible for teaching, guiding, and assisting the client in daily life skills as appropriate for age.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

DESCRIPTION This is a responsible position delivering substance use treatment services to consumers who suffer from substance use problems in an outpatient treatment setting(s). The work assignment may be at a single location or at multiple community-based treatment sites and involve travel. An employee in this class provides counseling and guidance to assist consumers in their personal recovery process including addressing such clinical issues as overcoming denial, recognizing feelings and behavior, encouraging personal responsibility, and constructively using leisure time. Duties include the core functions of substance use counseling: treatment planning, conducting individual and group counseling sessions, case management, crisis intervention, client education, referral, reporting and record keeping, and consultation. All work is in accordance with the requirements of the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse, and contractual regulations. Work is performed under the general supervision of a senior counselor or clinical supervisor and reviewed through direct observation, reports, and staff conferences. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Work may include but is not limited to the following examples:
Remains alert during working hours; attends work as scheduled, and complies with attendance policies.
In face-to-face interviews with consumers, conducts intake, orientation, screening, evaluation, and assessment of consumer problems and needs, and develops individualized treatment goals and objectives. Determines appropriate course of action.
Provides culturally sensitive, effective therapeutic services directed at treatment plan goals that include individual and group counseling, case management assistance, and information and education directed at addressing problems related to substance abuse. Assists consumers who are in crisis.
Assesses, monitors, evaluates and records consumer participation, progress, and adjustment against measurable recorded treatment goals, by using collaborative documentation.
Coordinates the delivery of needed services to consumers with state and local contractors, public assistance organizations, and social service organizations. Makes appropriate referrals and appointments.
Maintains timely, legible, clear, concise, and well-organized records of services provided. Documents the results of assessment and treatment plans; writes reports, progress notes, discharge summaries and other consumer related data.
Must be able to use the agency electronic medical record program for all documentation. Is required to use collaborative documentation.
Attends multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings and provides information regarding consumer problems, progress, plans. Attends staff meetings, administrative meetings, and training, as required.
Develops and maintains effective professional rapport and therapeutic relationships with consumers.
Maintains the confidentiality of consumer information.

WHAT WE DO

Qualifications

Master's or Doctorate Degree in a social science field (as defined by the Department of MentalHealth).
Active Provisional Counselor license (PLPC) through the state of Missouri or a Master Social Worker license (LMSW) with registered supervision with the Missouri Division of Professional Registration for licensure as a Clinical Social Worker in a minimum requirement.

Oak Street Health's graduate Behavioral Health Specialist Fellowship is a 12-month paid training program in the revolutionary collaborative care model in a value-based setting, which rewards healthcare companies for the quality of their care not the quantity.
This program will include time spent building your knowledge of evidence-based interventions and psychotropic medications, earning clinical supervision hours from a licensed clinical social worker, and engaging in didactic content that aims to build on, not repeat, graduate training.
