Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position will be available to work as Health Support Technician or Senior Clerk in all WIC locations. The incumbent will be required to work at various sites with a scheduled or advance notification of changes. This is a highly skilled position which requires an expert understanding of the Federal WIC and nutrition program and the use of WIC FL-Wise System with minimal supervision. Having successfully completed the Florida Paraprofessional training modules, will assist in providing quality nutrition services to WIC participants in compliance with the Federal Regulations. Maintains current knowledge of the Federal WIC program regulations including WIC memos, WIC FL-Wise system guide and the DOH manual 150-24. Ensures that the Florida voter registration group or individual application is completed accurately. Issue EBT card benefits. Conducts secondary low risk nutrition education contacts in relationship with staff and the public. Assist in decreasing nonparticipation by contacting clients for appointments who appear on related reports such as No Show and Clients eligible for benefits reports.
Obtains accurate data on height and weight measurement on women, infants, and children. Performs hemoglobin testing and records results electronically. Cleans and calibrates equipment and areas where blood work is done daily. Employee not required to lift more than 25 pounds in required duties. Maintains "universal precautions: in completing clinic HST function. Follows established guidelines and standards for safety in handling equipment, biological specimens, and waste products to prevent exposure to blood borne pathogens. Completes lab/Anthro and immunizations sections in electronic system.
Promotes and supports breastfeeding initiative.
Reads, understands, and implements directives and other duties as assigned.
Completes and submits time sheets, EARS, and travel accurately and according to established division and agency guidelines.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Essential Job Functions:
* Answers phone calls from individuals inquiring about services, those in need of immediate assistance, admitting to services, need information regarding services and community resources and linkage to SMA behavioral services.
* Provides information on Baker Act and Marchman Act.
* Provides crisis intervention to individuals and/ or family members calling and triages calls to determine if there is a need for routine, urgent or emergent intervention
* Meet with individuals and families face to face in the community, with a goal of 60 minutes from time of dispatch
* Participate in mandatory on-call rotation
* Provides solution focused supportive counseling and warm hand off to individuals that need immediate services
* Participates in required SMA in-service trainings to maintain employment.
* As assigned, assists in the maintenance of SMA's compliance with treatment and documentation requirements of funding sources, performance improvement, and accreditation activities.
* Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and to work the assigned shift. The program functions 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. An individual must be able to work the hours/ days for which they are hired to work. Additionally, the program functions 365 days per year and some holidays will be required. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum Education and/or Experience: Graduation from an accredited school with a Bachelor degree in Human Services or a related field. Master's Degree preferred. Within the last five years must have had two years of experience in behavioral health treatment services and one year of experience in a setting where it was necessary to communicate orally and in writing to inform, advise, or train others about client issues, treatment service delivery, documentation in client records or UM principles. Experience with American Society of Addictions Medicine Patient Placement Criteria is preferred. Experience with CARF, Medicaid, and Managed Care requirements is preferred. Additional education, licensure, and/or experience may be required depending on specific program guidelines.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities:
* Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current best practices of behavioral health treatment and related services, especially as it relates to documenting the course of treatment and patient placement criteria in the client record.
* Depending on assignment must have knowledge of typical diagnoses, treatment services, and developmental issues for adolescents in general, delinquent adolescents, adults and pregnant/post-partum women who are admitted to a mental health and/or substance abuse treatment setting.
* Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in using crisis intervention strategies
* Knowledge of growth and development.
* Ability to assess age specific data.
* Ability to interpret age specific response to treatment.

Complete State of Florida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment. Complete SMA required training during the first six (6) months of employment and updated if required.
Physical: Mobility and ability to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to lift minimum 10 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, treat, and record client health care needs. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate charting, daily correspondence and presentation, either manually or orally. Work endurance - ability to work 8-12 hour shifts with a meal break, as possible. Hours and days off may vary. Extra hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required. Coordinate the implementation of individualized mental health and substance abuse treatment plans
