The MentalHealth Professional is responsible for providing treatment to children and their families to support identified treatment goals and targeted service interventions. The Licensed MentalHealth Professional will address the clinical needs of the children and the complex needs of the entire family unit. Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide case contacts, which include home visits. Complete assessments, provide individual/family/group therapy, treatment planning, monitoring and crisis management.
Address the clinical needs of the children and the complex needs of the entire family unit. Treatment interventions utilized by this team member must be individualized to the child and family, as well as evidence-based.
Assist with providing therapeutic communication and interactions with youth/families for the purpose of alleviating symptoms or functional limitations associated with a child/youth's behavioral health diagnosis, reversing or changing maladaptive patterns of behavior, encouraging personal growth and development, and supporting the child/youth's capacity to achieve age-appropriate developmental milestones.
Provides crisis response, which includes a rotating on call schedule amongst the ACT team members.
Participation in daily morning team meetings and bi-weekly supervision.
They must successfully complete the required ACT Institute trainings as well as obtain and maintain CANS certification.
Education/Experience:
Professional License by the New York State Education Department is required and operating within the practitioner's scope of practice as defined by New York State law. This license includes that of a licensed social worker (LMSW), licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), licensed mentalhealthcounselor (LMHC), or licensed creative art therapists (LCAT).
At least 3-5 years of experience working with children and youth with significant emotional disorders, severe mental, emotional and behavioral impairments (commensurate with RTF or CR level of care), histories of hospitalization, and families with complex, multi-system needs, in crisis, with children in a mentalhealth setting, or related experience.
Experience with providing evidence-based treatments and familiarity with evidence-based practices is crucial to this role.
A Valid NYS Driver's License is required.

The Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor or CASAC will provide alcoholism and substance use disorder counseling services for individuals served by the Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center (SCSC).
The role will support individuals experiencing mentalhealth and substance use disorders, referred to as co-occurring disorders (COD). The CASAC can assist in assessment of symptoms form clients who may have substance abuse barriers by applying professional judgment to determine appropriate treatment needs and levels of care. The CASAC utilizes Evidence Based Practices as directed by SCSC clinical leadership team. This includes performing diagnostic assessment, evaluation, intervention, referral and alcoholism and/or substance abuse counseling within the scope of their CASAC credentials.
Core Responsibilities
Promote the individual's recovery by coordinating, developing and implementing in partnership with the individual, the treatment plan process.
Promote involvement of family or other relevant collateral contacts in the recovery process.
Provide individual psychotherapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention, within scope of education/certification.
Demonstrate knowledge of group work management techniques and use those techniques appropriately.
Provide linkage, referral, and case management as clinically indicated.
Serve as a member of a Multi-Disciplinary Clinical Team.
Respond to and support crisis interventions.
Attend individual and group supervision with supervisor.
Introduce clients to program goals, objectives, rules and regulations, client's obligations, client's rights and program operation.

Qualifications
Associates Degree with valid current CASAC certification required (CASAC-T or Provisional).

Minimum CASAC credential as Advanced CASAC preferred/ Maintain CASAC credentials, as required by New York State.
Experience with Group Facilitation, substance abuse counseling, conducting and testing clients for substance abuse, and collaborative treatment planning preferred.

Prepares reports and forms necessary to satisfy the agencys needs for accountability (i.e. recording, statistics, etc.).
May be assigned to instruct and direct graduate student interns and residents
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mentalhealth problems.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Ability to practice active listening skills to best react and understand how new information can impact current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
Ability to use appropriate training, instructional methods, and techniques/procedures based upon the situation and current qualifications.
Ability to effectively communicate via written and verbal communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Masters degree in Counseling or Social Work or related field or education equivalent to a Masters degree from an accredited college or university.
An active and in-good-standing LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW license with the state of New York.
Current and up-to-date CAQH profile
Current Professional Liability Insurance
Complete all required background checks including drug tests.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Eating Disorders, Play Therapy, Couples/Marriage Counseling, and/or Child Populations
Experience working with trauma-related disorders using advanced therapy modalities (e.g., EMDR, TF-CBT).
CBT and/or DBT training and/or certification
