Qualifications
Job Qualifications:

Job Summary:
The Licensed MentalHealthCounselor (LMHC) will provide essential mentalhealth services within the emergency shelter facilities operated under the Georgia Department of Public Health Emergency Preparedness program. The LMHC will work under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and provide comprehensive mentalhealth counseling services to shelter residents. This position requires adherence to all state and federal regulations within the scope of practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling to shelter residents.

5. Onboarding and Training:
- Attend just-in-time orientation/training provided by the facility representative upon arrival at the assignment.

6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate care plans and changes to appropriate medical staff efficiently.
- Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and healthcare providers to convey necessary information.
7. Shift Assignments:
- Work scheduled shifts as determined by the Department's Office of Nursing Representative, which may include 8- or 12-hour shifts.
- Be prepared to hold over at the end of the shift if mentalhealth resources are below minimum mandatory staffing levels until replacement coverage arrives.
Qualifications:
Licensure:
- Current, unencumbered License to practice as a Licensed MentalHealthCounselor (LMHC) in the State of Georgia.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of mentalhealth counseling experience.
Skills:
- Strong assessment and crisis intervention skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull objects, and stand for long periods.
Certification:

Our Camp Counselor positions have the potential to serve as competitively paid internships that meet your course credit needs.
First and foremost, your primary responsibilities will be as a Camp Counselor. As an Intern, you will be expected to fulfill your regular daily job responsibilities and it will be up to you to complete your internship responsibilities and to ensure that they do not interfere with your work obligations. Contact your college advisor in advance and ask them if you can use your summer camp job as a practicum, internship or for other course credits. If KE Camps can meet your internship requirements, your on-site Camp Director will be your field supervisor and oversee your course work. You will also be connected to a KE Camps contact at our HQ in Skillman, NJ. To receive credit, you must complete the course, practicum or internship per your college's parameters and complete your summer employment.
As a Camp Counselor, you will be an active participant in all camp activities and will assist your Camp Director with a variety of daily tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience for your campers. Our Counselors interact with our campers throughout the entire day, helping them make friends, try new things, and generally caring for their well-being. The role of a Counselor is to participate, build relationships and have fun while ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child.

* Participate in all camp activities
* Supervise daily swim time in a hands-on manner from within the water (lifeguard certification not required)

· Adheres to operational policies and procedures for the treatment team as established by the affiliated contract under which the Hub operates in service to assigned VA facilities.
· Servers a member of the Behavioral Team and screens candidates for admission to GWVH which could involve assessing the veterans in their homes or other care facilities.
· Facilitates liaisons with other assigned health care providers in order to effectively coordinate services.
· Assists with the execution of ongoing program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects to monitor the effectiveness of the clinical services provided in terms of veteran access and program effectiveness.
· Maintain universal precautions and infection control practices.
· Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and assist during respiratory and cardiac arrest procedures as applicable.

The Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) will provide comprehensive mentalhealth services within the emergency shelter facilities operated under the Georgia Department of Public Health Emergency Preparedness program. The LCPC will work under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and will be responsible for offering mentalhealth support, crisis intervention, and counseling to individuals in the shelter. This position requires adherence to all state and federal regulations within the scope of practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. MentalHealth Services:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to provide psychological support for shelter guests.
- Develop and implement personalized care plans and therapy programs tailored to the needs of individuals.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and de-escalation for individuals experiencing acute mentalhealth crises.
- Provide mentalhealth education and coping strategies to individuals and their families.
2. Assessment & Diagnosis:
- Perform thorough mentalhealth assessments, including initial intake and ongoing evaluations.
- Diagnose mentalhealth disorders and conditions based on clinical assessment and diagnostic criteria.
- Develop care plans addressing identified mentalhealth issues in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
3. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal mentalhealth regulations and ethical standards.
- Participate in quality assurance processes to monitor the effectiveness of the mentalhealth services provided.
- Address and resolve any performance issues or complaints promptly.
4. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Ensure thorough and timely documentation of all mentalhealth services provided.
- Submit reports on patient care activities and outcomes as required by the Department and Prime Contractor.
5. Onboarding and Training:
- Attend just-in-time orientation/training provided by the facility representative upon arrival at the assignment.
- Participate in ongoing training and education sessions to stay current with best practices in mentalhealth counseling.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses and physicians, to ensure integrated care for patients.
- Communicate patient care plans and any changes to the appropriate medical staff.
- Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring pertinent information is conveyed to both parties.
7. Shift Assignments:
- Work scheduled shifts as determined by the Department's Office of Nursing Representative, which may include 8- or 12-hour shifts.
- Be prepared to hold over at the end of the shift if mentalhealth resources are below minimum mandatory staffing levels until replacement coverage arrives.
Qualifications:
Licensure:
- Current, unencumbered License to practice as an LCPC in the State of Georgia.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in providing mentalhealth counseling services.
Skills:
- Strong diagnostic, assessment, and counseling skills.
- Ability to provide crisis intervention services.
- Capacity to handle high-stress situations and adapt to changing patient needs.
Certification:
- MentalHealth Crisis Certification preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an emergency shelter setting.

- Must be physically able to manage interactions with patients and provide necessary mentalhealth support.
Reporting:
- Directly reports to the Charge Nurse or designated supervisory staff at the emergency shelter.
- Maintain regular communication with the Prime Contractor and subcontractor.
Deliverables:
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required documentation and reports.
- Adhere to the staffing schedule and any amendments therein.
- Respond to requests from the Department within the stipulated timeframes.
