How you'll contribute
A Therapist who excels in this role:
Conducts individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems
Displays active involvement in treatment planning process
Provides family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups
Actively communicates with clients, families, and outside referral sources
Demonstrates proactive communication with those involved with the patient's treatment

What You'll Do:
Complete the Integrated Biopsychosocial Assessment and complete intake sessions with clients.
Formulate a mental health diagnosis by the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders V (DSM V) standards.
Develop an initial treatment plan, incorporating standard practice guidelines for each diagnosis.
Review and update the treatment plan with the client and others involved in the individual's care as appropriate. Measures change and adjusts treatment as needed.
Document assessments and care provided in the client's Electronic Health Record (EHR) and complete all documentation as required.
Complete encounters and associated documentation according to YVFWC requirements and coding and billing rules.
Respond to crisis situations with assigned individuals, assesses urgency of individual's needs and help obtain appropriate services as needed.
Assist individuals and families in obtaining additional mental health services and other social resources as needed. Document all referrals made to YVFWC case manager or other resources.
Work with individuals to transition and maintain a presence in a community setting after psychiatric hospitalizations.
Present mental health findings in verbal or written format to appropriate professionals. Provides case presentations for peer review.
Perform clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and YVFWC requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Who We're Looking For:
A licensed therapist who has direct experience treating children or adolescents
A team-focused individual who can engage with all levels of an interdisciplinary team

The Behavioral Health Specialist at the Resource Center provides youth-centered, early intervention services aimed at identifying the skills young people have to regulate their emotions, work through complex traumas, and gain coping mechanisms. This role implements trauma-informed education, provides peer mediation between young people, and facilitates crisis interventions. This role develops new behavioral health services to meet the needs of young people accessing the Resource Center and impacts the environment of the program through tiered interventions aimed at building a positive and youth-led culture.
Duties and Responsibilities
Complete behavioral health intakes and assessments for every young person accessing the Resource Center;
Develop individualized behavioral health plans incorporating young people and Behavioral Health Specialist responsibilities;
Support young people (ages 13-24) with complex behavioral health needs through creating, implementing, and analyzing the effectiveness of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions;
Offer (provide) individual therapy to any young person accessing the Resource Center;
Facilitate weekly therapeutic support groups based on the needs of young people;
Implement weekly behavioral health skill-building lessons;
Facilitate crisis intervention by using de-escalation techniques, as needed;
Build relationships with behavioral health agencies for additional behavioral health and/or substance use disorder services;
Conduct conflict resolution and peer mediation, as needed;
Collaborate with site-specific program leadership to implement an accountability system that prioritizes restorative justice measures for young people, as needed;
Participate in collaborative treatment planning with Resource Center staff to advocate for the behavioral health needs of young people;
Treat all young adults in a trauma-informed, strengths-based, culturally-sensitive manner.
Educate staff and volunteers on the therapeutic modalities and interventions most commonly used by behavioral health staff within their site;
Regularly train staff and volunteers on crisis intervention strategies;
Provide social-emotional support to staff and volunteers, as needed;
Support Behavioral Health Interns in successfully completing their practicum requirements.
Maintain accurate and quality client documentation in HMIS, InfoNet, and any other database Rod's House uses;
Submit End of Month reports to supervisor;

About the Role
Deliver remote, evidence-based therapy to adult clients (18+), practicing modalities like CBT, DBT, ACT, MBCT, TLDP, IPT, EFT, and MI.

Requirements

Formulates a mental health diagnosis using the current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders V (DSM V) standards.
Develops treatment plan incorporating standard practice guidelines for each diagnosis.
Provides therapy, supportive therapeutic counseling, and education to assigned individuals.
Applies therapeutic treatment models such as behavior modification, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and others as appropriate.
Measures change and adjusts treatment as needed, using appropriate screening tools.
Completes encounters and associated documentation according to YVFWC requirements and coding and billing rules.
Enters all documentation into the electronic health record (EHR).
Responds to crisis situations, assessing urgency of patient's needs, provides care, and helps obtains appropriate acute care services as appropriate.
Works with individual to transition and maintain a presence in a community setting after psychiatric hospitalizations.
Assists patient and family in obtaining additional services and other resources as needed. Documents all referrals made to other resources.
Presents mental health findings and recommendations in verbal or written format as part of shared case review or upon request for peer or clinical review.
Performs clinical and administrative responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and YVFWC requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Who We're Looking For:
A licensed therapist who has direct experience treating children or adolescents
A team-focused individual who can engage with all levels of an interdisciplinary team
A therapist who can handle complex, multi-service treatment plans that may require expertise in evidence-based practices
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred but not required
Qualifications:
Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
Required Experience:Two years' post-graduate experience in the direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbance. One year's full-time experience in the treatment of children is preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration:One of the following licenses is required for this position:
Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW)
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire.
