As part of the Corrections and Diversion teams, this position works within the Yakima County Jail primarily with individuals who have been ordered to receive a competency evaluation due to behavioral health concerns. In addition, this person is also working with and evaluating clients in the jail who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis, coordinating with the crisis team and legal partners to assist clients in receiving appropriate care. This position requires coordinating with other Diversion programs (such as pre-trial or mental health court), jail mental health services, intensive community support programs, and other Comprehensive and community services to ensure continuity of treatment. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to work with those in the legal system in order to help them obtain services that will ultimately reduce future legal contact. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
