Now Hiring: EMHS Mental Health Services Support Specialist/TSW-III We are currently looking for a qualified, full-time, Enhanced Mental Health Services Support Specialist/TSW-III to join our residential team. The Enhanced Mental Health Services (EMHS) Support Specialist/Team Support Worker-III will be responsible for providing a large variety of services ranging from behavior management, crisis intervention, self-help skill building, and other services as needed. Other duties include but are not limited to: Assist in the delivery of intensive, individualized, strength-based, and needs-driven intervention activities that support the engagement and participation of the youth and his/her significant support persons, and help the child or youth develop skills and achieve the goals and objectives of their plan. Assist with interventions which are skill-based and for the remediation of behaviors and reduction of symptoms. Some examples include implementation of a positive behavioral plan, modeling interventions for the youth's family/care givers. Provide 1:1 behavior intervention for clients based on client's treatment plan. Regularly communicate/consult with Youths' therapist, Clients' treatment team, regarding client's behavior, progress, and treatment goals. Participate in child/family team meetings. Maintain children in supervision at all times, focusing on behavior, safety, and general well-being. Promote growth and development in the children and assist them in reaching goals in accordance with their treatment plan. Initiate incident reports concerning behavioral problems, injuries, or accidents; provide complete and accurate documentation including dorm logs and other reports as assigned. Drive a vehicle when necessary. Additionally, when scheduled to serve as TSW-III (as part of supervision ratio), TSW-III shall provide/assist with EMHS Support Services only in the absence of scheduled EMHSS staff, and only to youth who are in need of immediate 1:1 behavior intervention, based on youth's treatment plan and ability, and only as long as the dorm remains in ratio. This determination will be made by the TSW-III in cooperation with the Dorm Supervisor on duty. Skills/Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in the Social/Behavioral Sciences required. One to two years of experience preferred. Demonstrated ability and leadership through a minimum of two years related experience in the field of child or family welfare services. Must be proficient in the use of computers, including Email, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Should have a special interest in working with youth and must fulfill the general requirements as established in the California Administrative Code, Title 22. Writing and verbal skills and the ability to compose quality reports and other necessary correspondence are essential. Must communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in English. JOB SUMMARY The primary role of the Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) is in providing direct and support services to female or male clients suffering from mental illness or a co-occurring disorder. Specifically, the two main functions of the BHT are 1) supervision of the clients and 2) ensuring their participation in treatment related services and facilitating psycho-educational, activities of daily living and attending community support and recreational activities. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Assists in supervision of client activities and be aware of client's whereabouts at all times, including breaks and internal activities. - Attend all mandatory trainings and in-house conferences/seminars. - Engages clients in therapeutic activities as appropriate. - Provides a brief overview of the housing program in regard to program rules, procedures, and services, with each new client. - Maintains order and ensures compliance with rules and regulations; ensures that clients conduct themselves in an orderly manner. - Monitors and document's clients for signs of medical distress and/or behavioral concerns on an ongoing basis. - Provides appropriate support and structure for clients in dealing with their recovery; interacts continually with clients. - Ensures client wake-up and bedtime, escorts residents on shopping trips, recreation, meetings, medical appointments, etc. - Enforces program rules at all times. - Distributes daily mail to clients and observes confidentiality standards. - Records accurate and up-to-date reports on every client and continually updates the bed list(s) to ensure that all admissions and discharges are recorded in a timely fashion. - Reports to the supervisor any discrepancies in client's whereabouts. - Responds appropriately to all medical and other emergencies. - When assigned to drive Hillside Horizon for Teens LLC vehicles, BHT's are responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles. - Conducts search of all client bags when being admitted to the facility. Confiscates and secures any contraband found and notifies the appropriate supervisor on duty in their absence. - Randomly inspects all rooms, common areas, hallways and bathrooms every thirty minutes and performs a thorough search for contraband, no less than weekly. - Must have a valid class B license. : The above is intended to describe the content of and requirements for the performance of this job. Job Description Now Hiring: EMHS Mental Health Services Support Specialist/TSW-III We are currently looking for a qualified, full-time, Enhanced Mental Health Services Support Specialist/TSW-III to join our residential team. The Enhanced Mental Health Services (EMHS) Support Specialist/Team Support Worker-III will be responsible for providing a large variety of services ranging from behavior management, crisis intervention, self-help skill building, and other services as needed. Other duties include but are not limited to: Assist in the delivery of intensive, individualized, strength-based, and needs-driven intervention activities that support the engagement and participation of the youth and his/her significant support persons, and help the child or youth develop skills and achieve the goals and objectives of their plan. Assist with interventions which are skill-based and for the remediation of behaviors and reduction of symptoms. Some examples include implementation of a positive behavioral plan, modeling interventions for the youth's family/care givers. Assists licensed/waivered professional staff in assessments and treatment planning; may plan and implement specific aspects under supervision. Provide 1:1 behavior intervention for clients based on client's treatment plan. Regularly communicate/consult with Youths' therapist, Clients' treatment team, regarding client's behavior, progress, and treatment goals. Participate in child/family team meetings. Maintain children in supervision at all times, focusing on behavior, safety, and general well-being. Promote growth and development in the children and assist them in reaching goals in accordance with their treatment plan. Initiate incident reports concerning behavioral problems, injuries, or accidents; provide complete and accurate documentation including dorm logs and other reports as assigned. This determination will be made by the TSW-III in cooperation with the Dorm Supervisor on duty. Skills/Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in the Social/Behavioral Sciences required. One to two years of experience preferred. Demonstrated ability and leadership through a minimum of two years related experience in the field of child or family welfare services. Must be proficient in the use of computers, including Email, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Should have a special interest in working with youth and must fulfill the general requirements as established in the California Administrative Code, Title 22.
