JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of the Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) is in providing direct and support services to female or male clients suffering from mental illness or a co-occurring disorder. Specifically, the two main functions of the BHT are 1) supervision of the clients and 2) ensuring their participation in treatment related services and facilitating psycho-educational, activities of daily living and attending community support and recreational activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in supervision of client activities and be aware of client's whereabouts at all times, including breaks and internal activities.
- Attend all mandatory trainings and in-house conferences/seminars.
- Engages clients in therapeutic activities as appropriate.
- Provides a brief overview of the housing program in regard to program rules, procedures, and services, with each new client.
- Maintains order and ensures compliance with rules and regulations; ensures that clients conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
- Monitors and document's clients for signs of medical distress and/or behavioral concerns on an ongoing basis.
- Provides appropriate support and structure for clients in dealing with their recovery; interacts continually with clients.
- Ensures client wake-up and bedtime, escorts residents on shopping trips, recreation, meetings, medical appointments, etc.
- Enforces program rules at all times.
- Distributes daily mail to clients and observes confidentiality standards.
- Records accurate and up-to-date reports on every client and continually updates the bed list(s) to ensure that all admissions and discharges are recorded in a timely fashion.
- Reports to the supervisor any discrepancies in client's whereabouts.
- Responds appropriately to all medical and other emergencies.
- When assigned to drive Hillside Horizon for Teens LLC vehicles, BHT's are responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles.
- Conducts search of all client bags when being admitted to the facility. Confiscates and secures any contraband found and notifies the appropriate supervisor on duty in their absence.
- Randomly inspects all rooms, common areas, hallways and bathrooms every thirty minutes and performs a thorough search for contraband, no less than weekly.
- Must have a valid class B license.

Acts as the liaison between the program and family/community agencies including individuals such as Parents/Caregivers, Case Managers, County Social Workers, Teachers/Education Providers, and Probation Officers. The Clinician shall work with the family or care providers in the implementation of treatment plans and will maintain contacts with all important individuals in the client's life.
Provides individual, family, and group counseling based on the needs of the clients served.
Meets Agency service percentage standard reflecting expected time spent with clients, if applicable.
Completes other assigned program operational tasks in accordance with supervisory directives.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a clinical program with a Master's or Ph.D. degree in a field of behavioral science from an accredited educational institution.
Holds a current license registration issued by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (AMFT, ACSW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC)
POSITION/PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid California driver's license, personal automobile insurance and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency's Personnel Policy: Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.

The Mobile Crisis Outreach Clinician will respond, in person, to provide timely support including crisis stabilization, safety planning, assessment for danger to self/ others, and gravely disabled write 51/50 holds as needed and provide follow up support. Utilizing the Mobile Crisis Outreach Program vehicle to respond to calls, this role co-responds with a Mobile Crisis Outreach Program Peer Support Specialist and is an integral part of the Sycamores larger Mobile Crisis Outreach Program including close partnership with the 988 call center, Riverside County Dispatch Center, police, sheriff, psychiatric hospitals and ambulance transport companies.
The Mobile Crisis Outreach Department evaluates the individual experiencing a “mentalhealth crisis” out in the field and takes measures to ensure the individuals safety (i.e., Evaluates if the individual requires involuntary hospitalization to ensure their safety). The Mobile Crisis Outreach Clinician takes the lead on care coordination and works collaboratively with the Mobile Crisis Outreach Program Peer Support Specialist to coordinate care i.e., locate hospitals, ambulances, housing, etc.). The Mobile Crisis Outreach Program responds to an individual's need for in-person evaluation for safety within specified geographical areas (i.e., Desert, Mid-County and Western Regions).
Starting Pay Range:
$93,150 - $100,136.25 per year for Full-Time employment (starting pay will be based on previous work experience and educational background.) There will be an additional $6,240 per year overnight differential.
Shift Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 10:30 pm - 8:30 am
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Masters' Degree in related field required.
Licensed in the State of California as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC or Psy. D/Ph.D required.
Must maintain relevant licensure as a condition of employment.
2 + years of successful licensure and experience preferred.
Attend and satisfactorily complete all trainings required by the Agency, federal, state and/or local regulations.
RUBHS experience preferred.
Maintains all required licenses and certifications.
As this position requires the driving of company vehicles for crisis intervention, including the provision of urgent or emergency services, driving is an essential function of this position. Candidate qualifications therefore include:

Conduct Psychological Evaluations
Complete intake process and develop an evaluation strategy.
Administer appropriate assessment protocol consistent with professional and insurance guidelines.
Formulate diagnostic conclusions based on collected information.
Provide clear verbal and written communication of findings and recommendations within a timely manner to caregivers.
Complete notes and reports within a timely manner.
Support in-center and community collaboration
Meet Board Supervision expectations
Participate in clinical case study meetings bi-weekly, including leading and presenting cases as required by the Clinical Director.
Consult with ABS Kids staff regarding mentalhealth needs of ABA clients and their caregivers.
Work to ensure a smooth referral process between in-house services and community partners.
Communicate effectively with caregivers, community partners, and treatment providers.

Who are we looking for?
PhD or PsyD degree in clinical psychology and in the process of obtaining your postdoctoral hours
Prior testing experience is a plus, but training is available
If you have a desire to work with children, no experience is necessary, we will train you
Prior Autism experience is a plus but training is available

Professional License Requirements:

Hold a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy
Have active state-level licensure as an LMFT
What to expect from this role:
Experience working in schools or with children is a plus but not required.
Provide individual, group, and family therapy
Perform crisis evaluation and behavioral intervention
Provide comprehensive behavioral health screenings and assessments of students as appropriate
Apply psychological principles, methodology, and techniques designed to modify behavior
Maintain appropriate records
Work in coordination with school personnel and parents to develop appropriate programs for eligible students
Collaborate in the development and implementation of an effective treatment plan based on the individuals Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
Effectively communicate with teachers, administrators, and parents
Ensure all services are performed in accordance with state laws and regulations
Perform other LMFT duties/responsibilities required by the Program and within the scope of licensure and/or certification
