Facilitates regular multidisciplinary review meetings for the purpose of planning care and assessing the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, group therapy processes and program components. Discusses progress toward goals such as medication regiment, family relationships, educational programs, and other related problems.
Completes and maintains individual and group counseling notes and documentation.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Behavioral Health Specialist, one of the key responsibilities is to work alongside the social work team to observe and assess patients' behavior in order to develop and execute treatment plans that effectively manage any behavioral issues they may be experiencing. It's important to provide ongoing support throughout the entire treatment process, including communicating with patients' teachers, caregivers, and families to implement treatment plans and address any concerns that may arise. By working together to support patients in managing their health and wellness, we can help them feel more empowered and confident in their ability to overcome any challenges they may face.
DUTIES
Managing participant's behavioral health, by conducting thorough assessments to determine their needs, preferences, and goals. This information can then be used in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop discipline-specific goals and interventions that are tailored to each individual. These meetings are actively participated in to ensure that all aspects of the participants' care are being considered and addressed.
Deliver and document behavioral health interventions as agreed upon in the participants' care plans, including but not limited to symptom management, counseling, crisis intervention, arranging necessary resources and services, assisting with the care transitions, providing individual and group counseling, and care management.
Facilitate individual and group therapies in various forms as appropriate such as art and music therapy, psychosocial drama, counseling, and discussion that restores or expands participants' social roles.
Provide training on behavioral health symptoms and interventions to staff.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in behavioral health (MSW) or Doctorate in Psychology (PhD)

Under clinical supervision, the MentalHealth Clinician I, provides mentalhealth direct services in an outpatient setting that includes individual therapy, intake assessments, and facilitating skills classes/groups for the Recovery Oriented level of care. Direct services are provided for adult consumers of the Kings County area, including some travel to Avenal, Corcoran, or Kettleman City.
How will I contribute
Provide direct services to individuals assigned to caseload.
Evaluate consumers for serious psychiatric problems and provide appropriate treatment plans and carry out treatment using a wide variety of treatment modalities such as individual, group, conjoint and family therapy.
Maintain a monthly productivity standard of 100 hours of billable time per month.
Participate in Access Rotation schedule as directed.
Complete documentation on same day as service at a rate of 80% or better or within 1-3 days of service.
Maintain positive working relationships with community partners and agencies such as, but not limited to Kings County Behavioral Health, Child Welfare Services, Probation, Adventist Health, and others.
Participate in appropriate staff meetings and other committee meetings as needed.
Provide training presentations, consultation, education, and information as requested, and as time allows, to community agencies, individuals and professionals.
Be sensitive to community agencies and general publics' needs for quick access for mentalhealth services and to help promote a positive image to the community.
May require non-traditional working hours based on needs of the clinic. The employee may be required, on an infrequent basis, to assist in covering after-hours crisis needs.
Maintain registration with BBS as a licensed/unlicensed/waivered clinician.
Complete four hours of cultural humility training per year.

Achieve all performance standards.
Achieve basic competencies in using our electronic recordkeeping system. This includes but is not limited to effective use of Scheduler, effective use of Dashboard, effective Development of Plan of Care, effective created of Diagnosis Documents, effective creation of progress notes.
In the course of performing job duties follows all Kings View policies and procedures, administrative directives, all relevant county, state, and federal regulations, and any performance obligations contained in the Kings View program contracts with other entities.
Maintain familiarity and compliance with the code of conduct and the requirements of the compliance program that are elements of performance evaluations and conditions of employment.

May encounter risk of working with persons with SMI (serious mental illness) that may include, but not limited to persons in mentalhealth crisis, persons that may be intoxicated or impaired by drugs or alcohol, persons who may be DTO (danger to others), DTS (Danger to Self), or GD (Gravely Disabled). POSITION:

Conducts daily rounds and evaluations to assess the treatment needs of persons served that request or desire mentalhealth services within the correctional facility setting
Hold daily sick call, evaluate patients, obtain medication history, verify current medication consult with medical provider/psychiatrist to continue psychotropic medications, and discuss conditions falling outside protocol perimeters
Recommends medication evaluations to the MD when necessary and coordinates closely with the Psychiatrist to ensure that persons served requiring evaluation or re-evaluation for medication are seen in a timely manner and the Prescriber is aware of any information pertinent to the patient's clinical condition
Upon receiving the necessary training and/or instruction, performs other related duties as required or assigned.
