Johnson County Mental Health is looking for a case manager to join in partnership with the Olathe Police Department's ACT (Advanced Crisis-Intervention Team) and new OPTIONS (Olathe Partnership for Inter-Organizational Navigation and Support) program. This position will work alongside law enforcement and co-responders to help high utilizers of emergency services navigate the behavioral health, social, and justice systems, helping to eliminate barriers and enhancing the effectiveness of complementary initiatives at each of the department's partner agencies. This position will be based in Olathe Police Department. The work schedule is Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., however there is a need for flexibility to work some evenings to meet the needs to the people we're serving. Posting will remain open until filled. Job Description Additional duties include: • Assertive outreach and engagement to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis by building rapport, assessing motivation, and encouraging participation in services. • Working with police officers and co-responders to assess and develop plans to address high utilization of emergency services by individuals with behavioral health issues. • Working with the OPTIONS officer and clinician to carry a crisis case management caseload; connecting individuals who have multi-faceted needs to ongoing supports and services. • Assessing individuals' circumstances to identify needs and/or determine service eligibility. • Collaborating with community partners to connect individuals to appropriate care and problem solving accordingly to ensure engagement. • Networking with other community agencies to coordinate resources and services for the client's benefit. • Reviewing police reports and determining appropriate next steps, including follow up, additional resources, and referrals. • Completing and submitting documentation regarding services provided. Job Requirements Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field is required. May require KS/MO driver's license, depending on department or agency. Candidates must be able to meet REJIS/KCJIS requirements (for law enforcement positions) and will be required to successfully complete a background investigation, including post-offer polygraph and drug screen, as a condition of employment. Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency. JCMHC has supported a 24/7 crisis line for over 40 years and recently became a member of the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (988). The intent for the 988 phone number is to prevent suicide, divert individuals from hospitals and law enforcement contact, and support individuals in navigating resources to meet their needs. The 988 Crisis Team is a 24/7/365 team working 12 hour shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a). This team is co-located in Johnson County's Communication Center, sharing space with Sherriff, Fire and Med-Act 911 dispatch. The 988 Crisis Team works closely with Johnson County's first responders. Additionally, this position will support JCMHC Mobile Crisis Response Team. MCRT is dedicated to resolving emergency situations by providing brief and intensive services with the goal of reducing the need for hospitalization, diverting from justice system contact, providing crisis intervention, and offering assertive outreach. JCMHC believes everyone can learn change and grow as human beings. Our role is to provide hope and promote recovery using a strength's approach.     Full-time Description FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Residential Clinical Services, Residential Coordinator POSITIONS SUPERVISED: NA POSITION OVERVIEW: The Residential Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) is responsible for maintaining a safe, sanitary, supportive, and stable environment in residential facilities. BHS will be trained to use a Housing First model when working with residents to complete goal orientated tasks, building independent living skills and promoting mental health recovery. BHS will apply a harm reduction and trauma informed approach to recovery orientated tasks to support mental health and/or sobriety. BHS must assign and supervise tasks carried out by residents, offer teaching opportunities and support both in a group and/or 1:1 setting, be able to provide daily support of medication management skills, and provide transportation to appointments and community-based activities as needed. BHS will be expected to coordinate with Team Leads, Housing Case Managers, internal agency, and other stakeholders to provide collaborative care to residents. Completion of state required, annual internal, and program specific training will be necessary prior to service delivery. BHS will be responsible for daily record keeping in compliance with contract expectations and foodbank guidelines. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide services to maintain required productivity / billing standard of 75% of all hours worked. Complete electronic documentation in clients' electronic medical record in a manner that individualizes each note, reflects appropriate interventions and progress towards goals, and meets the standards for medical necessity. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of service provision, signing all progress notes within 24 hours of service delivery, or as per contract guidelines. Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary environment within the Residential Care facility and submit timely facility requests. Requirements POSITION REQUIREMENTS: BHS is expected to have a high school diploma plus one-year post-high school education or equivalent experience in the human services field. Preferred areas of experience include working with SPMI population and/or dually diagnosed population and working in residential and/or shelter-based settings. This role involves managing a caseload, delivering both individual and group therapy, and offering expert consultation within a multidisciplinary team. Schedule/Shift: Full-time. Primarily weekdays, with flexibility to work some evenings (4:30 PM - 8:00 PM) and weekends. Responsibilities: Complete intake assessments, risk evaluations, and suicide assessments. Collaboratively develop individualized treatment plans and schedules for assigned residents. Manage a caseload as assigned by the Clinical Program Director/Designee. Identify resident progress, setbacks, and vulnerabilities for program review boards. Participate in weekly team meetings and collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership. Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and program standards, and report any compliance issues through appropriate channels. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record system. Remain current with best practices and empirically supported treatment interventions. Requirements: Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology or related behavioral health field. Active Kansas license through the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (LCP). Proven experience in diagnostic assessments, risk evaluations, and psychological testing. Clinical expertise in serious mental illness and sex offender treatment preferred. Approved User of STABLE-2007 and ACUTE-2007 within 6 months of hire (if not already certified). ATSA membership within 6 months of hire.
