Role Description
The Psychiatric MentalHealth Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management services to adults in the Windmill Wellness Outpatient Clinic located in San Antonio, Texas. This person may need to float to our location on Canyon Lake to help support Windmill Wellness Ranch's residential, PHP, IOP and Detox operations. This role is focused on treating individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring mentalhealth conditions within a multidisciplinary, trauma-informed clinical environment. The PMHNP works in collaboration with therapists, case management, TMS technicians, nursing, and leadership across programs to support integrated, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. This position supports both traditional and innovative modalities-including TMS and other non-traditional evidence-based interventions-aligned with the Windmill Wellness Clinical model.
Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Essential job functions are the critical duties required for successful performance. Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of management.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for adults with SUD and co-occurring mentalhealth disorders
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacology and coordinated care strategies
Provide ongoing medication management in compliance with state and federal guidelines
Collaborate daily with multidisciplinary team members to support integrated and continuous care Participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, and treatment planning discussions
Support use of innovative and evidence-based modalities including TMS, neurofeedback, and complementary treatment approaches
Complete required documentation in the EHR accurately, timely, and in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards Provide clinical consultation related to psychiatric stabilization, MAT (where applicable), and withdrawal management

Minimum Qualifications

Summary: National EMR consistently seeks talented and hard-working individuals who are eager to assist impacted communities and first responders on an “as needed basis” as reservist employees. Reservists (YOU) are part of an elite, all-hazards response cadre who are available to work intermittently, commit to working when needed, and travel/deploy within 24-48 hours. The cadre plays a key role in keeping National EMR ready to deploy the right people in the right jobs quickly in an emergency management situation. National EMR was built on the premise of filling gaps and serving those with the greatest needs in a disaster. National EMR has spent most of our time in the emergency support functions (ESF) of mass care, emergency assistance, housing, human services, public health, and medical services as our core mission areas. Reservists are responsible for maintaining personal readiness and your “active/eligible” status. Reservists will be entering into a fast-paced, ever-shifting, high-pressure environment. YOU are expected to perform well, make informed decisions, and be prepared to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Understand and adhere to the National EMR Policies and Procedures Manual, Uniform Handbook, and Operations Manual.
2. Foster a culture that encourages team members to work safely, identify potential hazards, and report safety concerns immediately to their direct chain of command.
3. Maintain active status within the agency's platforms, including learning management systems to complete training that may be directed toward self-improvement, mission-specifics, or Just-In-Time (JIT) training.
4. Conduct intake interviews and assess client.
5. Prepare goal-oriented psychosocial diagnostic assessments, service plans and progress reports.
6. Provide case consultations, one-to-one counseling for clients, and/or crisis intervention.

8. Develop and implement client tracking and status reports for monthly review/audit of clinical department.
9. Provide data to support staff on admission/discharge of clients for them to maintain the permanent National EMR Census.
10. Monitor and assist caseworkers and case aides in client supervision and milieu activities.
11. Participate in or facilitate primary therapeutic/psycho educational groups or activities.
12. Interview and complete preliminary service plan for each assigned client within 72 business hours.
13. Participate in weekly scheduled case staffing with the treatment team to review clients' progress and compliance.
14. Review client files to ensure proper documentation of therapeutic plan/services.
15. Obtain and maintain working knowledge of State Licensing Standards and funding source guidelines.
16. Attend and participate in twenty (20) hours of continuing education a year to maintain certifications dependent on current licensure.
17. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education/Qualifications:
Doctoral degree (Ph.D./Psy.D.) from an APA accredited university in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Provides training/supervision to interns as needed.
Provides consultation services to professionals, hospitals, organizations, schools, or agencies as needed.
Assist the Clinical Director in developing clinical programs for the betterment of all staff.
