As a member of Amgen's IGHI Team, your work will be highly collaborative across multiple teams and levels within Amgen, including Representation in Clinical Research (RISE), Access to Health (ATH), and Health Impact. Provides individual counseling to a caseload of assigned patients in the regional Mental Health Clinic.
Conducts initial interview and ongoing assessment of client's presenting problems, including mental status, level of functioning, developmental status, social and employment skills, co-occurring substance abuse problems, and mental and physical health educational needs.
Obtains client's social and medical history, and integrates assessment of physical health problems that impact the client's mental illness. Provides input to the multidisciplinary team with respect to the client's diagnosis as impacted by physical health problems.
With the participation of the client and appropriate others, plans and conducts the Client Care Coordination Plan; and in collaboration with the treatment team, determines whether the client requires long- or short-term counseling, the priorities in which the problems will be addressed, the counseling methods to be used, and the advisability of using individual or group counseling.
Administers psychotropic medication; monitors drug effectiveness and side effects; and provides drug education to clients and clients' families.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
OPTION I: One year as an Assistant Mental Health Counselor, RN* in the service of Los Angeles County.
OPTION II: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited* college or university with completion of specialty coursework in psychiatric nursing --AND-- two years of full-time post baccalaureate experience as a licensed registered nurse in psychiatric nursing.

Summary:
The Housing Supportive Services Program (HSSP) is a specialized program that provides comprehensive and intensive field-based community mental health services designed to meet the unique needs of individuals in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) who are formerly homeless and have a Severe Mental Illness (SMI) or Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Senior Intake Clinician will conduct psychotherapy with adult members that have severe and persistent mental illness in the office, in member's homes, or the field. The Senior Intake Clinician will conduct intakes and assessments at multiple project-based sites, coordinate client care and transfer to primary Clinician, when appropriate, with support from the Assistant Director of HSSP Admin. The Senior Intake Clinician's primary responsibilities are to engage members and to coordinate mental health and recovery services that will ensure housing stability and community integration. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest quality provision of direct individual and group therapeutic services and case management services, while fostering teamwork among staff and across departments and programs. The goal of this position is to coordinate and complete the Intake and Assessment processes for HSSP Program Enrollment to ensure access to care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide, coordinate, and implement mental health and recovery support services with individual members.
Conduct individual, family and group psychotherapy.
Conduct Intakes & Assessments for referred clients and coordinate with assigned provider on client disposition including diagnostic impression and coordination of psychiatry, mental health, and case management service needs.
Collaborate with each member to develop their individual service plan; review and update it upon completion of goals.
Collaborate with HSSP Leadership and HSSP Teams for client care coordination during and after HSSP Intake and Assessment completion.
Provide crisis intervention and short-term therapy as needed to clients during the Intake and Assessment process.
Maintain 65% productivity expectation with their own client caseload.
Develop effective, trusting relationships with members, with a focus on facilitating independence and maintenance of improved physical and mental health.
Collaborate with each member to develop their individual service plan; review and update it upon completion of goals.
Assist management and other Clinicians with program evaluation and modification for future program improvements and growth
Assist members with becoming involved in daily activities, socialization, health maintenance, sense of community, and progress in recovery reflective of The People Concern's model which emphasizes customer choice, harm reduction, and psycho-social rehabilitation
Work cooperatively and cohesively with other members of the HSSP team, including participation in weekly staff meetings, group clinical supervision, and trainings
Develop and maintain a complete, accurate, and current member file with all funder-required documents.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field of study from an accredited university.
Valid registration or licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
At least 1,000 clinical hours accrued towards licensure.
Experience conducting DMH Intakes and Adult Full Assessments.
Experience and skills set with assessing and developing clinical diagnostic impression.
Current, valid California Driver's with an acceptable driving record and reliable vehicle.
Able to transport members in your vehicle.
Outstanding clinical and strong team-building skills.
