Position Summary:
MentalHealth Specialists are bachelor's-level mentalhealth professionals who provide structured, one-on-one strength-based support to male clients at the ages of 5 and up. The MentalHealth Specialist provides advocacy to those in our black and brown communities, addressing their daily living, social and communication needs. They provide these services in any location appropriate to the client's needs such as home, school, community, or justice-related environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and group-based behavioral health services.
Deliver skill-building, role-playing, social communication, and problem-solving interventions.
Support clients in real-life community settings including schools, homes, probation and reentry programs.
Collaborate with external stakeholders such as school deans, case managers, and probation officers.

Provides diagnostic and therapeutic outpatient services to adults and/or children. Plans, organizes, and provides psychotherapeutic services to clients whose level of functioning indicates they can benefit from outpatient therapy.

This is a PRN (as-needed) position intended to provide operational support and ensure continuity of care during staff absences. Coverage may be required on any weekday (Monday through Friday) during standard day shift hours, based on departmental needs.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum Master's in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling required, preferably in social services field.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
• LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT licensure required
Experience:
Two years previous experience with SMI/SED population preferred. Verifiable history of providing quality care to clients as indicated by references or demonstrated by internal work history.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must have computer and keyboarding skills required by position. Must have valid IL driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
Responsibilities
1. Direct Clinical Services
a. Develop initial comprehensive assessment data including clients presenting problems, mental status, relevant psychiatric, medical and developmental histories to make decisions regarding diagnosis (per DSM-V), treatment objectives and ongoing treatment plans and/or to provide information and make appropriate referrals to other treatment resources in the community.
b. Provide 25 hours of billable services per week to clients.
c. Implement crisis or pre-crisis intervention procedures with potentially suicidal, homicidal, or severely disabled clients. Where appropriate referrals will be made to consulting psychiatrists or inpatient psychiatric facilities to prevent further destabilization.
d. Interview collateral contacts, previous and current treatment professionals, and significant others, to further establish a database for assessment and ongoing treatment plan as needed.
e. Clarify priority problems, goals for change, and session limits according to agency policy to assist clients in developing appropriate expectations for treatment in relationship to the agency. Use a variety of psychotherapeutic treatment approaches and interventions to change targeted behaviors and stabilize adaptive behaviors with individuals, couples and families.
f. Manage the termination process and discharge planning to enhance clients' abilities to retain treatment changes and/or use other available support services.
g. May organize, plan and participate in therapy groups for clients and/or their families, as assigned.
2. Client Information System
a. Establish appropriate professional files, including: comprehensive assessments, progress notes, treatment objectives and plans, previous treatment records, clients' consent to current treatment and for exchange of information.
b. Complete required administrative forms. Collect necessary information for billing and fee collection for both community mentalhealth and private pay clients.
c. Provide necessary client information to other agencies or health care providers to coordinate services to identified clients.
d. May prepare necessary documents/reports for DCFS as needed.
3. Training Activities/Professional Growth
a. Supervisor and employee mutually identify professional goals that will enhance job related skills.
b. Participate in ongoing agency meetings, committees and special projects to enhance professional expertise.
c. Complete mandatory education requirements by specified deadlines.
d. Participate in required staff meetings and in-services to keep abreast of agency policy and administrative procedures, meet requirements for continuing education, and upgrade professional knowledge.
4. Consultation/Networking
a. Engage in appropriate team work functions (such as mutual support, clarification of office responsibilities and procedures) according to best professional judgment and agency policy to provide a professional working environment and effective service delivery.
b. Develop cooperative relationships outside the agency with family, physicians, public officials or interested agencies to provide for the development of mentalhealth services in the community.

The Clinical Psychologist provides psychological leadership, consultation, and direct services for patients in an assigned facility. The Psychologist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in providing assessment and treatment of mental and emotional disorders of patients.

Qualifications
Must hold PsyD or PhD from a US APA accredited university program.

What You'll Do
As a Clinical Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality, clinically sound, and person-centered care across programs. Responsibilities include:
Clinical Oversight & Documentation Review
Serve as a subject-matter expert in mentalhealth and substance use documentation, including review and authorization of assessments and treatment plans.
Verify medical necessity, treatment recommendations, and compliance with Medicaid and regulatory standards.
Monitor progress, evaluate service needs, and provide guidance on treatment adjustments.
Staff Supervision & Development
Provide strengths-based clinical supervision to staff seeking clinical licensure.
Support clinicians through collaborative problem-solving and coaching.
Offer guidance on documentation standards, assessment tools, and best practices.
Quality & Collaboration
