GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This is a grant-funded position, and employment is contingent upon continued funding. As such in addition to standard background screening, additional background checks may be required in accordance with funding agency guidelines.
Performs advanced (senior-level) psychological and therapeutic rehabilitation work. Work involves conducting behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic services to justice-involved youth and adults. The Registered therapist (LPHA) will work closely with probation officers, case managers, and family members to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals under juvenile or adult probation or parole supervision. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and psychosocial evaluations of youth and adults upon intake and as needed.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with interdisciplinary team members.
Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
Serves as liaison between clients and their families, state and judicial systems, and facility or treatment providers.
Collaborate with probation staff to monitor behavioral and emotional progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
Assists with interagency service coordination and referrals.
Respond to mental health crises and provide appropriate clinical interventions.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, court staffing, and reentry planning.
Provide consultation, training, and support to probation staff regarding mental health needs and behavioral interventions.
Coordinate care with external providers, schools, and families to ensure continuity of care post-release.
May assist with coordination for scheduling clients with the prescribing staff to ensure appropriate distribution of clients across available appointments, appropriateness of fit with services available, and the cancelling and rescheduling of prescriber appointments to accommodate crisis appointments.
Document case records, assessments, recovery plans and progress notes according to Center requirements and Texas Administrative Codes. Employees will maintain complete and accurate consumer medical records and keep all such information confidential within two business days.

Network and serve as a liaison with various community partners to include providers, local government, schools, hospitals, and other community resources.
Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are required for the 8-5 office workday or agreed upon hours 100% of the time, to ensure consistency and completeness of program's processes.
Professional Development - Successfully complete training required to maintain skill competency and cross training to ensure consistency across program procedures. Complete continuing education as required by professional standards and the Center.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Fort Cavazos is a United States Army post located in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio. The post is named after Gen. Richard E. Cavazos, a native Texan and the US Army's first Hispanic four-star general. Formerly named Fort Hood for Confederate General John Bell Hood, the post is located halfway between Austin and Waco, about 60 mi from each, within the U.S. state of Texas. Clinical Psychologist - Veteran Disability Assessments We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our team in performing medical assessments for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. In performing Disability Assessments, you will review behavioral health records electronically through a secure Web Portal and perform a comprehensive assessment in-person on each Veteran.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans.
Review and analyze electronic medical records via a secure web portal.
Accurately document exam findings and complete the required VA forms.
Note: This role does not involve treatment or prescribing medication. Disability determinations are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), not by the provider.
Position Details:
Schedule: Full-Time, 5 Days per Week (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
