This includes introducing new behavioral coping and parenting skills and practices these in sessions utilizing strategic positive reinforcement and coaching interventions Engage primary caregiver and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment; Engage participants to identify and overcome barriers to engagement; Develop therapeutic relationships with families; Provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with TFCO model; Provide family therapy; Coordinate services with mental health and medical professionals, including psychiatrists, physicians, and nurses; Facilitate collateral contacts with representatives from schools and other community organizations on behalf of children and families; Advocate on behalf of families to help them meet their needs and achieve their desired level of independence and self-sufficiency; Link families with resources available in the community; Assist families in scheduling psychiatric evaluations and medication reviews with Psychiatrist once child returns home Help to identify and eliminate barriers to services; Help to enhance existing community services and develop new services based on the needs of families; Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with people and organizations in the community; Make referrals to Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services as needed; Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, case consultations and training as needed; Provide individual, family and group therapy; crisis intervention; case management; Other duties as required or assigned. Requirements Must have a Master's Degree or higher and be a Psychologist (TLLP, LLP, or LP) TLLP supervised by a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC or LPC) LLPC supervised by a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or Limited Licensed Master's Social Worker (LLMSW) supervised by a Licensed Master's Social Worker, and must possess and retain current licensure in the State of Michigan. Must meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements of a Child Mental Health Professional within 120 days of hire. Must have at a minimum of 1 year of experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families. Additional requirements include: a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of individual families, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with families, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other providers, effective interpersonal communication skills, the ability to assess and intervene within complex family and community systems, and a willingness to be flexible, patient and creative. Must have a favorable driving record and be able to obtain a chauffeur's license within 30 days of hire. Preferred experience includes working with families, working within a team environment, administering social skills assessments and interventions, direct use of pragmatic (i.e. structural, strategic, and functional) family therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy with children and adults, Wayne County CMH services, and electronic medical records.
