Position Requirements

Education and Experience

Registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling as QMHP C (Child) preferred.
Registration as a QMHP-T (Trainee) required. A Qualified Mental Health Professional - Trainee (QMHP-T), is defined as a person receiving supervised training in order to qualify as a QMHP-A/C in accordance with 18VAC115-80 and who has met the minimum requirements and is registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling.
Masters degree preferred.
One year of experience providing case management, counseling, or behavioral interventions in a mental health setting or in other related specialized programming is required.
Qualifying staff will be eligible for a $3K sign-on bonus as defined by the terms and conditions of the approved sign-on bonus policy.

Essential Functions
Duties include preadmission screening evaluation for hospitalization, crisis intervention, triage for non emergency intakes, information & referral, brief case management, and crisis stabilization. Services require working in the office and in a variety of community settings. Must be able to multi task, manage stressful and high-risk work environments, interface with multiple behavioral health partners and first responders, and to work independently with minimal need for direct supervision.
Develops and facilitates psycho-educational groups; provides individual, family and group counseling; implements treatment plans; coordinates daily treatment schedule.
Monitors and manages an assigned caseload.
Provides crisis intervention and prevention services to individuals and families.

Education and Experience
Master's degree with coursework in social work, counseling, psychology, or approved human services field and moderate experience working with clients with developmental disabilities in a behavioral healthcare setting required.
