The Youth Program Mentor will work under the Youth Programming Coordinator to implement the Kinder Skog program, an outdoor nature program that offers afterschool and summer programming for ages 5 -12 years old, as well as the Wellness Department ORCA Camps. Responsibilities

Program Implementation. Assist with planning and leading activities aligned with the program's philosophy, incorporating nature exploration, STEM learning, recreational opportunities, and community building exercises.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
Employees will be trained in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to respond effectively to medical emergencies or injuries that may occur during program activities. It is the responsibility of the employee to achieve and maintain the First Aid and CPR certification.
Employees will be assigned Boys & Girls Clubs of America Spillett trainings annually. It is the responsibility of the employee to complete the Spillett trainings when assigned.
Employees must complete the State of Alaska, Department of Health & Social Services, Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training at time of hire. It is the responsibility of the employee to complete the Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training annually.

This position will work directly with young people, ages five (5) to eighteen (18), to promote positive youth development, foster meaningful relationships, and create a safe and engaging environment for personal and academic growth.
