The Family Education Support (FES) Mentor position is funded by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), Refugee Programs Office (RPO) and provides allowable Refugee Support Services to Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR)eligible individuals and families who have been in the United States for less than five (5) years, in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
This position delivers intensive, individualized, and family-centered mentoring services to newly arrived refugees, asylees, and other immigrants with humanitarian protection status residing in the Twin Cities Metro Area. Services are designed to support educational success, family stability, community integration, and progress toward self-sufficiency, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with local schools, community partners, and resettlement agencies.
The FES Mentor will use the Check & Connect evidence-based mentorship model to mentor students, supporting engagement, attendance, goal setting, and academic success. All services, outputs, and outcomes must be documented in the MRIS data system, consistent with DHS RPO reporting and compliance standards.
Reporting & Supervision
Reports to: Immigrant & Newcomer Support Services Supervisor and other CAIRO Management Team in accordance with DHS RPO contract requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
(Aligned with DHS RPO Allowable Activities and Performance Measures)
Provide direct mentoring and family support services to ORR-eligible children, youth, and families.
Use the Check & Connect evidence-based mentorship model to mentor students, supporting engagement, attendance, goal setting, and academic success.
Conduct Family Wellbeing Inventories upon enrollment and updating service plans aligned with family goals and program requirements.
Support students and families in navigating educational systems, setting measurable goals, and accessing school-based and community resources.
Collaborate with school personnel to address attendance, academic progress, behavioral concerns, and post-secondary planning.
Coordinate with community partners and resettlement agencies to ensure timely referrals and service linkage.
Facilitate or coordinate workshops, informational sessions, and group activities relevant to the needs of enrolled families.
Ensure services are culturally responsive, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and consistent with refugee services best practices.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of services, outputs, and outcomes in MRIS.
Participate in program meetings, supervision, case reviews, and DHS RPO monitoring activities as required.
Comply with all DHS RPO, ORR, and CAIRO policies, including data privacy and confidentiality standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in human services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field or a minimum of four (4) years of combined experience and/or training in human services or a related field.
Demonstrated experience working with refugees, immigrants, or other underserved populations.
Fluency in Somali (required).
Ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently while meeting program performance and reporting requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing school-based mentoring, youth engagement, or family-centered services.
Two or more years of experience in:
Case management
Employment or vocational counseling
Community mental health or social services
Familiarity with grant-funded programs, performance measures, and outcome reporting.
Competency with MS Office, email, internet tools, and client database systems.
Knowledge of local community resources and service systems in the Twin Cities Metro Area.
Ability to coordinate or arrange supportive services related to education, employment, financial stability, housing, health, and behavioral health

The Deviation Mentor is a member of the LKC Quality organization that educates, mentors and guides deviation investigations and analytical investigators. The Deviation Mentor is also responsible for the training program associated to deviation system and may leads deviation review boards, participates in deviation assessment review pre-approval and post-approval. The Deviation mentor leads the site metrics related to deviation system. He/she can also lead complex investigations. They participate in regulatory inspections and collaborate in the site inspection readiness program and assist and advice the lead investigators, functional leaders and Site Quality Leader and Quality Directors in issue investigation matters.
Responsibilities:
Provide advice and guidance to lead investigators in deviation investigation and analytical investigations (assessment, quality impact evaluation, root cause analysis method), investigation write-up (technical writing), support data, CAPA establishment and effectiveness.
Coach the deviation review board: review of deviations prior to deviation approval. Provide advice and assist deviation reviewers and approvers on issue investigation matters.
Owns the elaboration and reviews of deviation trend reports.
Facilitates the implementation of DRB Playbook at the plants and site level and connect plant /site metrics, trending and procedures with its implementation.
Establishes linkages with network and global teams and participate in relevant forums, such as global deviation CoP, ensuring the communication and implementation of best practices within the site.
Lead the review of the quality of deviation investigations (post-approval).
Design and elaborate site deviation metrics. Participate in the review of plant deviation trend analysis.
Integrate global initiatives and/or projects related to the deviation management program into the site quality standards and processes.
Design and deliver deviations related to deviation management training programs.
Escalate concerns/issues and develop mitigation plans.
Trained as a lead investigator, deviation assessor and approver. Can act as a technical reviewer for deviation investigations and analytical investigations. Can approve deviation investigations, either as technical or quality approver, including minor and moderate deviations.

Dreamline Mentors provide social-emotional support and mentorship to students who are struggling to meet their academic and personal goals. Each Mentor works in their assigned school (locations are in the Metro or Greater Minnesota) with a cohort of 20-25 students to develop meaningful relationships and motivate students to set and achieve their personal goals.
Role and Responsibilities

SUMMARY
Individualized Youth Services (IYS) Youth Mentors work one on one with youth, guiding them through behavioral, social, and emotional challenges. IYS Youth Mentors provide respite services, critical support, and mentorship to help them thrive in various settings. IYS Youth Mentors follow policies and procedures that are aligned with the agency's mission and strategic plan.
FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions
Provide direct services and constant supervision to clients, following each client's individualized service plan.
Work one-on-one with clients to help resolve personal, social, and emotional issues, fostering positive behavioral and social growth.
Engage in activities and services alongside clients, ensuring a supportive and interactive environment.
Accurately document all services provided.
Safely manage crisis situations to ensure the safety of the client and others.
Administer and log medication, ensuring proper care and adherence to each client's service plan.
Assist with meal preparation and clean-up, following safety and hygiene protocols.
Comply with all transportation and vehicle policies, ensuring the safe transportation of clients.
Actively participate in staff meetings, contributing to team discussions and ongoing improvement.
Take on other responsibilities as needed, adapting to the dynamic needs of the clients and the program.
Other Functions
Maintain facility resources with care and respect, taking on cleaning tasks and assisting with general upkeep as needed.
Follow proper incident reporting procedures, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of any occurrences.
Commit to personal and professional growth by seeking feedback, staying informed on best practices, and continuously improving your skills.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, Education and Licensure:
High school diploma is required. Additional education is preferred.
All program specific required training is provided through the program upon hire, including county specific training.
Prior experience working with youth and/or emotional behavioral disabilities is preferred.
Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work Environment:
Ability to work from multiple settings, including several programs and CESA 6 office locations.
Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to communicate effectively in person, via phone and in writing.
The employee may occasionally lift or move equipment up to 20 pounds.
Due to the physical nature of clients with the IYS Program, the position may be required to perform trained crisis prevention techniques, which may require restraining a client ranging in weight.
Salary Description $16.50 / hour
