Title Nursing Scholars of Promise (NSP) Program Mentor Job Description Join the Nursing Department at Missouri Western State University (MWSU) in an exciting new position: The Nursing Scholars of Promise (NSP) Program Mentor. The NPS Program Mentor supports and guides students in meeting their educational and professional goals. This individual serves as an advisor, role model, and advocate for Nursing Scholars. This position requires close collaboration with Mosaic Life Care Health System to: a) facilitate recruitment of student participants into the NSP program; b) support NSP students' academic success through the BSN program at MWSU; and c) guide their employment transitions at Mosaic Life Care Health System as they progress through the NSP program. This is a full-time position at MWSU, reporting to the Chair of the Department of Nursing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Work with Missouri Western State University (MWSU) and Mosaic to market the Nursing Scholars of Promise (NSP) program
* Recruit and retain high-achieving students to the NSP program
* Direct the application and selection process for the NSP program
* Conduct a program orientation for NSP students
* Identify and adopt a formal mentoring framework to guide the mentoring relationship.
* Conduct regularly scheduled mentoring and academic advising meetings with mentees
* Support academic success of mentees
* Nurture personal and professional growth of mentees, including developing professional networks
* Serve as a role model to mentees
* Act as a liaison between mentees, clinical partners, and MWSU Nursing program/faculty
* Support transition to professional nursing practice and acculturation to the healthcare system
* Collect, evaluate and report outcomes of Nursing Scholars of Promise participants
* Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree
* Previous Nursing/Healthcare, Academic Advising, and/or Teaching Experience

Position Summary: The purpose of the Mentor is to further implement specific treatment plan goals with assigned at-risk youth. The Mentor will work directly with youth and team members to ensure appropriate mentoring components are being delivered and that the quality of services meets agency and accreditation standards.

Provide direct mentoring services to youth and families assigned to the program.
Develop, implement, and ensure quality of mentoring service components in accordance with the youth's treatment plan.
Provide clients assigned services within the time frame targeted for those services and documentation to PCHAS-MO necessary to complete billing (service delivery, outcomes, and plan for future sessions) in a manner consistent with program goals and agency standards.
Utilize mentoring review meetings and training opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Ensure physical and public safety standards for youth are maintained during mentoring sessions/activities.
Communicate youth progress and needs to appropriate team members on a regular basis.
Requirements
Mentors shall possess a high school diploma. Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a closely related human services field preferred. Upon employment, must pursue continuing education and/or in-service training required for this position. Must be at least age 21; prior childcare experience preferred.
Skills
Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with children displaying behavioral and emotional problems; an ability to maintain an appropriate balance between being authoritative and supportive; an ability to not take children's negative comments or behaviors personally; possess teaching skills to positively impact targeted youth, and must be able to make sound decisions in crisis situations and under pressure. Personal maturity is an extremely important attribute. Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Must be able to operate computer with agency approved software and other office machines such as fax, calculator, telephone, and so on.

We're very excited to offer camp alumni an opportunity to join us for a portion of the summer. Alumni Mentors work alongside staff in the cabin to ease the workload, share wisdom and boost morale. You might also help out in the kitchen, camp store, animal area, with special events - wherever the need and whatever your expertise!

Requirements
Work cooperatively with fellow camp staff to provide a healthy, safe, and enjoyable camp environment and experience for all campers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide guidance to campers on their schedule, activity choices, and abiding camp rules
• Ensure campers are on time to activities with the appropriate supplies. Assist campers at meal times, and in the cabin to ensure campers are maintaining health and hygiene practices such as showering, wearing clean clothes and getting appropriate sleep
• Lead cabin activities, songs, and games that are engaging and age appropriate
• Provide emotional and behavioral support to campers as needed by following behavior management techniques as outlined in the staff manual and during training
• Provide instruction of assigned camp activities to campers
• Ensure the safety of all campers when participating in camp activities

• Completed at least 1 summer as a staff at Cub Creek Science Camp

The TM will work directly with the client in conjunction with the Mentor Coordinator to ensure mentoring components are being delivered in accordance with the mentee's Service Plan, TBRI principals, COA standards, and PCHAS mission of providing Christ-Centered care to children and families.

Assist the Mentor Coordinator with the delivery of quality mentoring services, in accordance with the client's Service Plan, within the time frame targeted for those services, as well as communicate the client's progress and/or any needs the client may have.
Maintain accurate and timely records/case notes in CSWIS to ensure proper monitoring of service delivery, outcomes and plans for future reviews.
Participate in monthly supervisory sessions with your supervisor, monthly mentor meetings, and trainings as are scheduled. Utilize individual and group meetings as well as training opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Maintain both physical and public safety standards for PCHAS clients when they are under the supervision of a Therapeutic Mentor.
Assist with developing and maintaining a professional and collaborative relationship with the PCHAS team, school employees and various other community members, in an effort to provide the highest quality of services to TM clients.
Maintain mentoring caseloads according to PCHAS expectations per week: 1.) Full-time- 20 to 25 youth, minimum of 1 hour per week, with 10 minutes of documentation time per case note. 2.) Part-time- Contingent on hours per week, minimum of 1 hour per youth, per week and documentation time allowed accordingly.
As requested, provide Parent Aide services according to Children's Division expectations to assist parents with development of parenting and home management skills by teaching and modeling, with a goal of reaching an acceptable level of family functioning. (Farmington Service Center Mentors only)
