Job DescriptionWe are seeking Mentors who will report to the the Program Assistant Director or Coordinator for grant, pre-college programs for middle school or high school students in Paterson Public Schools or Passaic Public Schools. Mentors are initially required to make a commitment for one session (Summer 6weeks: July-August; Fall 10 weeks (Oct-Dec) and Spring (Feb-May). Mentors support program logistics, as well as provide individual and group activities to encourage students regarding post-secondary options. This is a part-time, hourly position. Examples of Duties: Participate in mentor training provided by grant program. Serve as a role model and provide encourage college/career pursuits. Meet with assigned protégés based upon agreed work schedule. Assist in the development of skills necessary for protégés to succeed both personally and academically. Assist assigned protégés in developing realistic career/academic goals and expectations. Participate in the planning of enrichment activities. Evaluate and document experiences of assigned protégés. Provide resource information to protégés. Assist staff with other program related activities such as virtual and on-site field trips, seminars, administrative tasks, etc. Ability to use virtual platforms. Provide classroom support to instructors and program logistical support Provide lite tutorial assistance as needed Perform other duties as assigned by the program director/coordinator.
