The Deviation Mentor is a member of the LKC Quality organization that educates, mentors and guides deviation investigations and analytical investigators. The Deviation Mentor is also responsible for the training program associated to deviation system and may leads deviation review boards, participates in deviation assessment review pre-approval and post-approval. The Deviation mentor leads the site metrics related to deviation system. He/she can also lead complex investigations. They participate in regulatory inspections and collaborate in the site inspection readiness program and assist and advice the lead investigators, functional leaders and Site Quality Leader and Quality Directors in issue investigation matters.
Responsibilities:
Provide advice and guidance to lead investigators in deviation investigation and analytical investigations (assessment, quality impact evaluation, root cause analysis method), investigation write-up (technical writing), support data, CAPA establishment and effectiveness.
Coach the deviation review board: review of deviations prior to deviation approval. Provide advice and assist deviation reviewers and approvers on issue investigation matters.
Owns the elaboration and reviews of deviation trend reports.
Facilitates the implementation of DRB Playbook at the plants and site level and connect plant /site metrics, trending and procedures with its implementation.
Establishes linkages with network and global teams and participate in relevant forums, such as global deviation CoP, ensuring the communication and implementation of best practices within the site.
Lead the review of the quality of deviation investigations (post-approval).
Design and elaborate site deviation metrics. Participate in the review of plant deviation trend analysis.
Integrate global initiatives and/or projects related to the deviation management program into the site quality standards and processes.
Design and deliver deviations related to deviation management training programs.
Escalate concerns/issues and develop mitigation plans.

Basic Requirements:
BSc or MSc in a scientific or technical degree (chemistry, biology, microbiology, engineering or equivalent scientific/technical degree).
5+ years of experience in deviation management and analytical investigation experience in pharmaceutical industry, parenteral manufacturing experience preferred.

Coordinate communication with parents/guardians, teachers, ISM Coordinator, BBBSChi program team and other relevant supports in youth's life when necessary
Plans, coordinates, and attends BBBSChi and school-sponsored events, including welcome back and end-of-year celebrations, field trips, and enrichment outings, ensuring youth engagement and program visibility
Participates in agency trainings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to enhance service delivery and youth outcomes
Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by providing feedback on curriculum, processes, and program structure
Ensures compliance with BBBS Standards of Practice and youth safety protocols at all times

Position Summary:
The ISM Lead Mentor will work out of an assigned school, supporting approximately 50-80 elementary school aged youth (Littles) through facilitating both group and individual mentoring sessions. The Lead Mentor will provide positive role modeling and exposure to help Littles plan and set goals, increase social and emotional skills, as well as their self-confidence and sense of belonging. The support will be provided by facilitating group-specific curriculum along with individual mentoring sessions with Littles as needed, along with additional volunteer management and collaboration. The Lead Mentor will collaborate with a Mentoring Manager to enroll participants and effectively deliver the program's curriculum. Responsibilities:
In conjunction with ISM Manager, schedule, process, interview, assess and match (group and one-to-one) participating youth based on assessment recommendations
Leads mentoring groups by facilitating group relationship development and scheduled lessons in coordination with the site school
Mentors a caseload of youth either in a group or 1:1 match relationship during scheduled sessions throughout the year
Maintains progress monitoring data for each Little
Prepares and implements mentoring curriculum and activities, while also recommending adjustments to material as needed
Implements positive behavior facilitation strategies to ensure a safe group mentoring environment

The program will involve mentoring high school seniors during a three week residential summer program in the last three weeks of June 2023. There are five open positions; two positions are residential, three are for commuters. Residential Mentors' duties will begin in late April and early May 2023 when they will begin making personal contact with Freedom Scholars (hereafter Scholars). They will attend an evening information session for admitted Scholars and parents in late May. They will participate in a three-day orientation to the CHP from June 7th through 9th and help lead an orientation for Scholars on Sunday, June 11. ● During the three weeks of the summer session, the Residential Mentors will fill three distinct shifts during the afternoon and evening: Team 1, Team 2 and a “floating” member of both teams. ● The two members of Residential Team 1 will meet with the Scholars for lunch at 12:10 each day and join two Academic Mentors in a debrief about the day's morning seminars from 1:00 - 2:00 during which the Scholars will have a chance to debrief, recounting their thoughts on the substance of the discussion. Residential and Academic Mentors will also lead Scholars on a short lesson concerning a writing strategy for the Scholars to practice in a short reflection on the morning seminar that they will write up in their free study time by the end of the day. At 2:00 pm, Team 1 Residential Scholars will take over the responsibility for leading the Scholars through the rest of the afternoon, which will begin with a one-and-a-half hour activity, which may take a variety of forms: ● Recreational sports or games, walks into Naperville, workshops on picking colleges and starting applications, workshops with visiting faculty, and the like. After a half hour snack break, Scholars will have another hour and a half to work on their written reflections or reading for the next day's seminars, which work Team 1 Residential Mentors will supervise. The two Team 1 Residential Mentors will end their day at 6 pm when the Scholars go in to dinner. ● Team 2 Residential Mentors will begin their days at 6 pm, joining the Scholars at dinner and accompanying them through the evening schedule, which will include an evening activity (similar to the afternoon activity above, including movie nights and guest speakers) from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. From 9:00 to 11:00, Scholars will end their days completing their reading and/or writing for the day and turn in at lights-out at 11:00. Residential Team 2 will stay in the dorms with the Scholars and end their official work day at 12 midnight. The Project Director will be in residence through each week night to assist Residential Team 2 in addressing any situations that emerge during the nighttime hours from 11 pm - 8 am. ● The “floating” Residential Mentor will join the Team 1 Residential Mentors generally at 2 pm and stay through evening activity. The floating Residential Mentor will help both Team 1 and Team 2 Mentors as an extra pair of hands during the busiest part of each day, helping deliver the academic mentoring as well as participating in activities.
