The Urban League of Rochester seeks a full-time Mobility Mentor to provide mobility mentoring assistance and administration for the Mobility Mentoring Program.
Job Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Family Services with the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as requested by the Program Planning, Research and Evaluation Department.
Participate in the recruitment of clients to take part in the Mobility Mentoring Program
Work directly with clients in the Mobility Mentoring Program, as assigned by the Director of Family Services. This includes conducting intake appointments or client follow-up.
Maintain client files as instructed by the Director of Family Services.
Attend Urban League of Rochester functions and events.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Family Services.
Requirements
Requires a minimum of an associate's degree; a bachelor's degree with a background in case management, mobility mentoring, or motivational interviewing is preferred.
Knowledge of mobility mentoring is required, and knowledge of case management is preferred.
Requires at least one year of experience in client interactions.
Experience in civic engagement or financial planning is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to independently meet deadlines and fulfill requirements from supervisors.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Capacity to manage multiple projects and assignments, often with competing deadlines.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of the dynamics of race and class within the political economy of contemporary urban America.
Competency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, and Excel.
Must be able to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.

General Description
Serves families with the unique needs of post-adoptive, post-guardianship, and kinship placements in their families. This position provides supportive services in the home or community within the 4-county services area (Monroe, Wayne, Livingston, and Steuben). Connects families to resources such as parent training/education and assists the individual's/family's personal growth and development while enhancing the stability of their social network. Facilitate support groups and organize events to best connect families within the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assesses client(s) to determines what education and community supports will benefit the family
Provides emotional support from families with similar experiences.

Job DescriptionDescriptionOverview Adult English Language and Literacy (AELL) is the direct service provider of ESOL and adult literacy instruction for the Library. They use professional teachers to offer free instruction to adult patrons in reading, writing, speaking and listening from a 0 to 8th grade level. Through formal classes in language and literacy, as well as elective offerings such as English conversation and citizenship preparation groups, AELL has taken on the charge to expand ESOL instruction in the Library.
The Student Mentor works as part of the Intake team that welcomes, orients, assesses and formally registers new students into the program. They are responsible for accurate student information collection and data entry. The Student Mentor is also expected to provide administrative support and complete general office duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the St George Hub Manager and Intake Advisor, the Student Mentor will:
Assists in entering statistical data for all ESOL/ABE classes
Assists in tracking demographic information for information sessions
Support a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks, from basic tasks like cutting paper to more involved tasks such as setting up calendars, and producing documents
Provides overall support across all Libraries in the preparation of materials and event setup (computers, video equipment, room arrangement, etc.) for information sessions
Assist in the student intake across the Library, greeting new students, and helping direct them through the registration process by signing them in, seating them for the program, acting as translators (if bi-lingual), and making them feel comfortable within a library setting.

SCOPE
South Bronx United (SBU) is seeking energetic individuals with a passion for youth development and soccer to join our team of SBU Coach-Mentors. In the position, the individual will serve as a mentor and Head Soccer Coach for a travel team of boys or girls within the SBU Academy Program. As a mentor, the individual serves as the first point of contact for any issues regarding SBU student athletes on the team and as a positive influence promoting education, character, and community. As a coach, the individual will run twice-weekly soccer trainings and coach the team at weekend games. The coach will have the goal of keeping youth active, instilling fun, and helping youth grow as both players and students.
This is a part time position from September to June requiring approximately 8-12 hours/week during the fall and spring seasons. Hours will decrease during the winter off-season (January-February) to 4-6 hours/week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as a Mentor for a team of approximately 20 youth (mentees):
● Serve as first point of staff level contact for the mentees.
● Help plan, set, and keep students on their program schedule.
● Maintain weekly contact with each mentee in person and via phone.
● Maintain regular contact with mentees' parent/guardian.
● Help SBU Education Director monitor student academic performance and assist
in the collection of student report cards, transcripts, and school documents.
● Work with SBU Youth Counselor and Education Director to identify social,
emotional, and academic issues or concerns.
● Check email daily and maintain good communication with SBU office staff
● Hold a weekly call with SBU office staff to discuss progress of each
student-athlete on the team.

2. Serve as Head Coach a travel youth soccer team

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Peer Mentor (SPM) will support the Transportation Coordinator in managing a grant-funded rideshare transportation program for individuals with a history of substance use disorder. The SPM will be responsible for documenting all transportation services utilized on a weekly and monthly basis and escorting participants to necessary locations across Staten Island when warranted. This role is ideal for a compassionate and detail-oriented individual committed to supporting people in recovery by ensuring they have reliable access to essential services.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Transportation Support & Documentation:
* Maintain accurate records of all rides provided through the program, including dates, times, destinations, and participant details.
* Prepare and submit weekly and monthly transportation utilization reports to the Transportation Coordinator.
* Assist with tracking program performance and identifying trends in transportation needs.
* Communicate with participants about their scheduled rides, ensuring they understand pickup times and locations.
Peer Support & Escorting Services:
* Provide in-person escort services for participants who require additional support traveling to appointments, treatment programs, or other essential locations across Staten Island.
* Offer peer-based support and encouragement during transit, helping participants navigate barriers to accessing care.
* Act as a liaison between participants, transportation providers, and the program team to ensure smooth service delivery.
Collaboration & Advocacy:
* Work closely with the Transportation Coordinator and case management staff to address transportation-related concerns.
* Advocate for participant needs and provide feedback on ways to improve the program's accessibility and effectiveness.

Job Description Summary:
The Peer-to-Peer Mentor is an essential member of the Fatherhood Program team. This role supports fathers by providing lived-experience mentorship, assisting with group facilitation, helping participants navigate program requirements, and building community across all four program tiers. The Mentor strengthens father engagement, supports retention efforts, and contributes to the program's father-friendly environment.
This role is designed for someone with personal experience as a father or caregiver who can connect authentically with participants, model positive fathering behaviors, and support fathers as they work toward reunification, improved relationships, and personal development.
Responsibilities
Provide peer-to-peer support to fathers across all program tiers.
Co-facilitate weekly Peer Support Groups (held twice per week).
Assist with parenting sessions (ProFathering15, Fathering in Action, SFI) as needed.
Share lived experiences to motivate and encourage participant engagement.
Support outreach and recruitment efforts within the community.
Help retain fathers by conducting follow-ups and encouraging participation.
Assist fathers in planning and co-leading required community projects.
Participate in family events and help fathers engage meaningfully.
Track attendance for groups, workshops, and program activities.
Support staff in maintaining incentive logs and participation records.
Communicate participant updates to Family Development Coaches and Program Director.
Attend DYCD-required training and participate in staff meetings.
Promote a father-friendly, trauma-informed, culturally competent program environment.
Conducts phone and field outreach and recruitment to locate and enroll fathers into the program.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or the equivalent.
Minimum of one year of experience in fatherhood programming or a human services setting.
Proficient in oral, written, and interpersonal communication, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks autonomously, demonstrating strong initiative and self-motivation.
Demonstrated experience serving as an effective group leader, successfully guiding teams to achieve project objectives.
Possesses excellent interpersonal skills that foster collaboration, build strong working relationships, and drive positive team dynamics.

Peer Mentor Contract
Peer Mentors of the LSAMP Summer Bridge are trained paraprofessional staff members of the Office of Access, Opportunity and Achievement (OAOA). During the Summer Bridge (SB), Peer Mentors are responsible for assisting pre-first year students with their academic, social, and personal transition into the college environment. Summer Bridge is the transition from high school to college life with the focus on STEM. Peer Mentors support this transition through their specific roles outlined below.
Peer Mentor Role and Responsibilities
In order to facilitate the best experience for the pre-first year students during the SB, Peer Mentors will:
Live in the residence hall along with the pre-first year students in order to help them make a successful transition to residential life.
Peer Mentors will:
Educate students and enforce all residence hall policies and procedures.
Educate students and enforce policies related to drug and alcohol use, as well as Ithaca community standards.
Prepare residence hall for student arrival and complete check-in assignments as required.
Be on overnight on-call status as assigned.
Work closely with a pre-assigned group of pre-first year students monitoring their academic, social, professional and personal development, as well as their acclimation to the program and to IC.
Peer Mentors will:
Serve as a positive role model using appropriate language, exemplifying a positive attitude and modeling behavior expected from students.
Hold one-on-ones with each student and complete contact sheets.
Educate students regarding behaviors that will result in a positive academic experience at IC
i.e. being on time for class; developing study hours; class participation, timely submission of assignments, developing relationships with IC faculty/staff, finding a mentor, etc.
Communicate regularly and disseminate appropriate information to students about SB events and activities.
Attend all SB sessions as assigned.
Work with SB supervising staff on a regular basis.
Peer Mentors will:
Be responsible for the safety and security of office keys. Keys are not to be shared with non-OAOA staff.
Communicate student progress, concerns and issues that arise with the SB staff.
Assist in the preparation and cleanup of SB events.
Chaperone off-campus trips unless otherwise specified by the SB staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
