Job Responsibilities
Hands-on development and implementation of client EHS programs, including, Chemical Safety, Hazard Communication, Emergency Preparedness, and Additional OSHA-specific safety programs as needed.
Establishment and maintenance of EHS permits and licenses in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Work with EHS teams and facilities teams to develop, manage, and implement worker safety and compliance for facilities and building equipment and systems.
Conduct Job Hazard Analyses for hazardous processes, equipment or materials.
Conduct Risk Assessments to analyze and evaluate the proper handling of hazardous materials.
Establish reporting, complete corrective actions, and ensure corrective actions are completed for non-compliance, un-safe work practices, accidents, and incidents.
Work with client staff to bring about a high-level match of EHS culture and worker safety activities to written policies, procedures, instructions, and manuals.
Coordinate and facilitate Safety Committees.
Prepare and deliver training to fulfill regulatory requirements and ensure client employees are fully aware of the safety program.
Coordinate specialized training, such as RCRA, DOT, IATA, OSHA HAZWOPER, Wastewater Operator, CPR, First Aid, and AED.
Maintain complete documentation of all aspects of the EHS program.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field.
Master's degree or PhD preferred.
5+ years of EHS-related work experience.
Knowledge of two or more of the following: OSHA, DEP, EPA, RCRA, DOT, DPH, MWRA, NIH, NFPA, DEA, and CDC regulations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develops strategic plans to achieve the company's objectives for EHS, environmental sustainability, and CSR.
* Sets clear, challenging goals for the EHS Department personnel aligned with the company's strategic goals.
* Ensures staff is adequately trained for assigned duties.
* Represents Hydranautics on matters related to EHS, environmental sustainability and CSR to key external stakeholders (e.g. regulators, community, industry peers).
* Establishes partnerships within the Hydranautics' organization to proactively influence the integration of EHS, environmental sustainability, and CSR into operational activities and plans.
* Participates in meetings with key external stakeholders, including matters which require negotiations on behalf of Hydranautics.
* Provides critical project leadership, staffing requirements, and related financial budgets for EHS, environmental sustainability and CSR initiatives.
* Identifies, evaluates and communicates problems and makes recommendations for solutions to executive management.
* Directs the implementation of EHS, environmental sustainability, and CSR initiatives as required by the Nitto Group (RoHS, REACH Conflict Minerals, Green Procurement Guidelines, CSR and related programs)
* Manages third-party onsite security services.

* Experience in managing chemical process operations.

The Safety Officer develops, implements, and monitors a comprehensive safety program throughout Equitas Health. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, exercising professional judgment; traveling, driving, or having reliable transportation; written communication; relationship building; utilizing a computer for typing and research; attending meetings, and presenting to small groups.
Job Responsibilities:
Hazardous Communication. Works with applicable departments across the agency to ensure required Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are accessible and current.
Hazardous Waste Disposal. Oversees disposal or cleanup of hazardous and biohazardous materials in our pharmacies, clinics, and mobile units following all regulatory mandates and guidance.
Training Coordination. Coordinates and tracks staff participation in required CPR/First Aid and de-escalation training.
Personal Protective Equipment. Orders distribute and trains on PPE materials across the organization including conducting fit testing for N95 masks. Creates and trains on guidance for proper PPE usage and infection control.
Documents and monitors exposures which may include COVID, bloodborne pathogens, airborne pathogens, needle sticks, and other exposures, and ensure prompt follow-up.
Safety Activities. Coordinates occupational safety activities, which may include safety drills, inspections, investigations, or other safety events. Maintains a roster of safety leads for each location and offers guidance and support for safety concerns. Coordinates safety committee meetings.
Corrections and Recalls. Researches provide guidance and oversee equipment recalls or medical device corrections

Job Scope
Responsible for evaluating applicable regulations and the Group standards, determining applicability to company operations. Implement procedures and policies that result in conformance with environmental, health and safety and dangerous goods regulations, and the protection of employees and the environment and the Group Standards. Assure health, safety and environmental concepts are considered into business, operations planning and decision-making processes. Support applicable regulations including ISO, Local, State, and/or Federal requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate the workplace, equipment and processes to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and industry standards.

Review research and develop manufacturing, and labeling (SDS, IFU) documents and processes to assure facility and corporate procedures and policies, and EHS regulatory requirements are met.
Manage waste handling and disposal, including but not limited to hazardous waste and bio-waste, to assure proper collection, storage, transportation and final disposal of waste is in compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.
Evaluate environmental regulations, determine applicability, and develop and implement procedures and policies to meet requirements.
Evaluate waste and determine appropriate waste classification.
As needed, manage analysis and method of disposal for waste to include transportation and final disposition.
Manage emergency response programs to result in increased loss control in the event of an emergency.
Monitor, update and improve emergency response procedures.
Organize and execute emergency drills including, but not limited to medical, spill and fire.
Participate in training processes that inform employees of EHS requirements and safety procedures and policies, and foster the improvement of safety understanding, lower exposure and incident rates.
Manage development and delivery of safety training programs, including demonstrating the importance of conforming to EHS policies and procedures, and consequences of failing to comply.
Assist in maintaining documentation of EHS training.
Formally and informally encourage safe behaviors in others.

* Review plans and specifications for machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct inspections of facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify hazards and areas of non‑compliance.
* Investigate workplace incidents by identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Audit Applied Medical buildings for compliance with California Division of Occupational Safety and Health requirements and safety features.
* Assist in evaluating practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
* Provide safety guidance, recommendations, and solutions to enhance prevention measures and improve workplace safety.
* Perform safety training for team members to support awareness, compliance, and safe work practices.
* Maintain current knowledge of safety policies, regulations, and industrial processes to support continuous improvement.

Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
* Holds an associate's degree in occupational health and safety or an equivalent field of study.
* Applies knowledge of hazard identification, data analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
* Produces clear reports and supports the development of safety policies and procedures.
* Demonstrates strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail when identifying safety concerns.
* Communicates effectively with team members through written documentation and interpersonal interaction.
* Uses Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
* Operates computers, copiers, and general office equipment effectively.
* Applies experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP).
* Understands and complies with company safety rules, quality systems, and organizational policies.
Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred:
* Demonstrates proficiency in California Division of Occupational Safety and Health Title 8 regulations.
* Holds an Associate Safety Professional certificate in occupational health and safety.
* Brings one year or more of experience working in occupational health and safety.
