Merchandise stocker job description

Essential Job Functions:

* Stock all merchandise in its proper location according to shelf allocation established by management.
* Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times.
* Replace misplaced items to the proper location.
* Unload trucks.
* Sweep and mop all areas of store.
* Check the shelf label of each item to ensure pricing accuracy.
* Keep stockroom area neat and clean.
* Properly remove and dispose of all trash.
* Rotate all merchandise when stocking to ensure freshness and quality.
* Clean and straighten shelves.
* Responsible for hanging shelf tags.
* Stack product in stockroom.
* Bale all boxes.

Job Qualifications:

* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Stocking experience a plus, but not required
* Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands
* Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
* Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies

Our Chain Stockers restock merchandise on displays and cold boxes in large volume stores.

Primary responsibilities:

• Merchandise store, coolers, and displays with products in assigned accounts
• Ensure proper rotation of code dates
• Transport products to and from back room to shelf location using equipment (e.g., U Boats, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc)
• Display signs, banners, and other promotional materials in assigned accounts
• Keep back room stocked and in neat an orderly condition
• Build and maintain customer relationships through excellent customer service

Basic Qualifications:

• must be 18 years or older
• Able to lift, load, push and pull beverage cases repeatedly
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical exam and background check
• Must have a personal vehicle to access multi-store locations within assigned route
• Must show proof of insurance within company guidelines
• Must be available to work early morning and weekend shifts

Compensation & Benefits

• $1,000 Sign-on Bonus: $500 after 30 days of employment and $500 after 90 days of employment

• Pay: $650/week

Day-to-Day:

• Cover service calls when regular service representatives are on away on vacation.
• CLEANING: Recovering the proper condition of that aisle since the last service.
• STOCK: Restocking messy bins or displays and resolving bin contamination.
• CULLING: Removing damaged/unsellable material and issuing credit electronically.
• MERCHANDISING: Maintain signage and pricing to best practice.
• ORDERING: Replenish inventory according to published guidelines.
• CUSTOMER INTERACTION: Build strong and dependable relationships with store management and associates.
• PROJECTS/TASKS: Complete tasks, projects and resets of Woodgrain products in stores as assigned by the Area Manager.

The Fun Stuff:

• SHIFT WORK: Primarily M-F days. Overtime may be required based on territory demands.
• TRAVEL: This is a remote position with required travel to stores daily.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and your own vehicle.
• High school level education plus one to three years’ relevant or prior experience.
• This position is very labor intensive and requires the ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
