The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Internship will be located onsite 3 days/2 days remote per week in our downtown Boston HQ located at 125 Summer St. The Summer 2026 Internship is a 12-week program that requires a commitment to start on June 1st and stay through August 21st.
This internship will support the Director, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis. The intern will gain experience in leveraging corporate data systems (ERP/EPM), large data sets, and executive management reporting.
What You Will Do:
* Successful networking with current FP&A team, and their respective business partners
* Enhance existing data models/reports through efficient use of EPM/ERP applications coupled with analytical tools/capabilities
* Demonstrate ability to connect data to outcomes
* Utilize critical thinking, and fresh thought partnership with current team in upgrading our current reporting to provide better analytics in line with the company's new KPI strategic initiative.
* Emphasis on learning over "doing"
* Presentation on lessons learned at conclusion of internship focusing on linkage between education and real-world experience.
Education/Skills:
* Undergraduate in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field
* Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

**Position Overview & Responsibilities**
The Invoice to Cash (I2C) FinanceInternship position can support numerous operating companies within Medical Devices and the Pharmaceutical Sectors. This position is located in Florida (Tampa) with an alternate location upon approval.
The Internship Program is a full time 10 week program focused on providing college students with practical business experience. It allows participants to develop leadership skills, broaden their understanding of the concepts learned in school and "get a taste of the real world" before they are fully committed to it. The Intern program is one of the primary feeders for entrance into Johnson & Johnson's Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP). The FLDP program is a 30-month program designed specifically to prepare and develop future generations of business leaders within the accounting & finance organization. FLDP participants will develop critical leadership & technical skills through rotational assignments at J&J business units, in-depth training, & ongoing coaching and feedback.
Internship program participant role includes credit and collections, financial accounting and analysis, SOX, and Compliance support. Specific responsibilities may include:
+ Proactively manage assigned accounts through the invoice to cash cycle to include collections, credit line administration and billing dispute identification and resolution
+ Serve as a point of contact for inquiries, requests and issues related to accounts receivable for an assigned portfolio of customers
+ Perform customer reviews to ensure that accounts remain within the assigned credit limits as well as assess and mitigates financial risk and escalate to Sr. Financial Analyst if needed.
+ Motivate desired customer payment behavior through timely and insightful contact with customers. Employ collection technique and negotiation to maximize cash flow and create a favorable financial relationship and customer experience.
+ Collaborate internally with Sales, Supply Chain, etc. to respond to customer related inquiries. Participate in negotiations and contribute to cross-functional, end-to-end solutions to improve cashflow and the customer experience
+ Month/year end closing procedures
+ Coordination of the A/R month end Sarbanes Oxley controls,
+ Assists with the implementation of internal efficiencies, auditing techniques, and standards related to SOX and Compliance projects/initiatives.
+ Problem solving, active business partnering and developing innovative methods to improve job metrics and processes.
**Qualifications**
+ Current enrollment in an accredited College/University is required.
+ Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate or Fifth Year Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or business-related major with an expected graduation date in 2027 or 2028.
+ A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.
+ Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel is preferred.
+ Legal Authorization to work in the United States, without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future is required.
The anticipated base pay for this position is $51/hour, but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience.
This position is overtime eligible.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance and/or accounting, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 - June 2028.
Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with AbbVie.
Progress towards successfully completing at least three accounting courses (each with 3 credit hours) by the time of graduation, with one of the courses being focused on cost or managerial accounting.
Demonstrated utilization of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in academic and/or professional settings.
Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or student organization setting.
Must submit unofficial or official transcript at time of application.
Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation date between December 2026 - June 2027 preferred.
Dual major or minor in a related field is a plus.
Exposure in utilizing systems and tools to visualize and present data in a meaningful way.
Exposure to data analysis and ability to perform robust analytics and predictive modeling.
Completion of an accredited Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course.
Ability to use analytical skills to innovatively solve problems.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects within a work and/or academic environment, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
Proven track record of working collaboratively in teams, being adaptable, innovative, proactive, and maintaining high ethical standards.
Previous internship or related experience.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Undergrad Intern - Finance/AccountingWhat You Will Do

Each summer intern will work 20 hours per week with an accounting/finance team for the duration of the program. Throughout the internship, they will be assigned multiple meaningful projects tied directly to our strategic and tactical goals. These projects give interns the opportunity to think analytically, build a strong foundation in corporate finance and accounting, learn systems and technology tools, work with multiple managers and gain valuable experience in the biotechnology industry.
