Job Summary:
The Community Health Program Coordinator supports the implementation of health programs within a community. Mercy Health is looking for a full time Polysomnographic Trainee for third shift position in Sleep Center. Trainees work under the direct supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist to develop competency in and perform comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including polysomnographic diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care, and education.
Job Duties:
Performs diagnostic testing for sleep disorders including Home Sleep Studies (HST), Baseline Diagnostic Polysomnogram (PSG), Positive Airway Pressure titrations (CPAP, BiPAP, iVAPs, ASV), Multiple Sleep Latency (MSLT), titration of oral devices for OSA, and supplemental oxygen titration.
Demonstrates organizational, computer, interpersonal, and technical skills to complete quality clinical procedures and excellent patient care.
Assists with physician clinics and facilitates treatment compliance with patient education, mask fittings, and desensitization sessions, as needed.
Performs studies utilizing the standard 10-20 system of electrode placement.
Assures cleanliness and safety of patient care, technical, supply, and storage rooms in the Sleep Center.
Maintains proper cleanliness, care for, and functioning of sleep study equipment and supplies.
Ensures accurate registration, payment collection, and charging for patient encounter in patient's electronic medical record (EMR).
Reviews patient chart including physician order, face to face, history and physical, medications, comorbidities, and prior patient sleep encounters to confirm accuracy of order, appropriateness of testing, and identify potential issues & effects of patient health on sleep study.
Reviews orders and performs appropriate sleep disorders testing according to facility policy & procedures as well as American Academy of Sleep Medicine, state and federal government, and accrediting body standards & regulations.
Accurately completes all workflows, charting, scoring, documentation, and necessary scanning in the patient EMR and sleep study system for each patient encounter.
Assists with scheduling of patient visits & procedures, reminder calls, filling vacancies from cancellation list, and proper tracking of patient reschedules, cancellations, and no shows in the EMR.
Promptly reports any facility cleanliness, maintenance problem, safety hazard, equipment malfunction, supply issue, patient complaints, patient or staff injury, security concern, infection control issue, etc. to management and the appropriate supporting department.
Completes all required continuing education in compliance with credentialing body, Sleep Center and hospital accrediting bodies, and BSMH policy.
Performs other tasks deemed necessary by manager to facilitate customer service or business operations including shift, work schedule, department, or location change.
Maintains positive relationships with customers, coworkers, and others.

Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED

Will be directly involved with and act as site supervisor for Clinic Student University Internship program.

The Birth Doula is a community health worker who will work with pregnant and postpartum women and their families. The doula will promote healthy pregnancies, breastfeeding, and parent-infant attachment. While establishing a trusting relationship with their birthing clients, they will provide prenatal, labor, and postpartum support. Initiate contact as early in pregnancy as possible.
Establish trusted relationships.

Attend prenatal appointments with pregnant client as needed.
Prepare birthing clients for labor and delivery experiences and for their new parenting role.
Attend and support the mother and family through early labor by phone and active labor and delivery at birth location.
Support the mother and family after delivery to assist with breastfeeding, bonding, etc.
Collect required documentation from prenatal visits, labor/births and Postpartum visits.
Visit the birthing client-baby pair within 24 hours of discharge.
Maintain postpartum contact for 12 months to support breastfeeding, guide infant care, and provide continued emotional support (or 6 months if previously received services).
Advocate and monitor birthing client-baby pair's medical needs.
Develop and stay connected with older and newly developed relationships with community partners including medical care providers.
Maintain confidentiality of families served.
Recognize limitations of the role and make appropriate referrals.
Work cooperatively with other staff and serve as a resource to them.
Participate in interdisciplinary and/or interagency meetings as required.

Education:
Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD (required)
Advanced pharmacy degree - Doctor of Pharmacy, Masters, Residency (preferred)
Required Licensing & Certifications:
Maintains current license for pharmacist in the state(s) where practicing (required)
Valid state issued ID (required)
Immunization Certified (preferred)
Experience:
2 years of recent experience in an acute care setting (required)
1 year of leadership experience (preferred)
Experience in field of pharmacy practice (required)

Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLT) is responsible for performing the routine test on blood, tissues, and other body specimens, as well as providing physicians with quality results using a variety of clinical laboratory equipment. The Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLT) must have a total understanding of patient safety and laboratory techniques necessary to guarantee complete patient safety and anonymity.
Essential Functions:
* Performs analytical tests on biological specimens, in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner in compliance with documented laboratory procedures
* Determines acceptability of specimens by performing visual inspections or by recognizing abnormal/ unusual results
* Recognizes factors that affect measurements and results by taking the appropriate action according to protocols
* Performs quality control for all testing and meets established ranges before patient results are released
* Maintains a safe and efficient work environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, monitoring temperatures following hospital policies, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment
* Other duties as assigned
Education:
* Must have one of the following:
* Associates of Science in Medical Lab Technology
* Completed 60 semester hours (including six hours of chemistry and six of biology) of academic credit from a college or university accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency and have completed a Medical Lab Technician Program
* Completed a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course within the past ten years
Certifications:
* MLT Medical Laboratory Technician Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required)
Experience:
* Two years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory setting (preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-pasted environment
* Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
