Assists with orientation of new employees. Participates in department meetings, in-services and QA/QI planning. Performs and documents quality control aspects of sterile processing. Accurately maintains comprehensive quality assurance standards related to sterilization and infection control in a sterile area. Ensures that controlled activities (i.e., equipment sterilization, PAR levels, sterile wraps, etc.) are documented and maintained in a matter commensurate with accepted standards and protocol. Performs duties of instrument technician as needed. Job Overview: This position can independently decontaminates, cleans, prepares, retrieves, and sterilizes surgical items and equipment. This position also stores and issues supplies in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
