Police Officer - Youngstown Market
Job Summary:
The Police Officer provides internal and external safety/police functions to support the general safety of BSMH facilities to include participation in investigations and arrests when warranted. Police officers are assigned to an area and responds to radio and/or telephone calls for routine and/or emergency assistance.
Essential Functions:
Protects patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and mitigating environment of care safety hazards.
Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of all hospital property to include all parking lots and decks.
Enforces policies e.g. parking regulations, visitation policies, drug enforcement, and tobacco free/smoking policy.
Monitors hospital activity on closed circuit television to be alerted to any escalating situations that may require protective services involvement.

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position:

Essential Functions:
Operates computerized telephone console to assure efficient communications; Determines the reason for the customer's contact (both internal and external)and facilitates communications answering calls promptly and forwarding calls to appropriate locations.
Perform public address and paging mechanisms for contacting hospital personnel and physicians according to established standards.
Monitor, assign and replace pagers for staff.
Perform a broad scope of technical operations of the telecommunications system including: Coordinate with departments for telephone repairs, moves and/or changes, insure callers on procedures for Voice mail, paging, help desk questions, etc, Maintain all paging equipment and emergency radios, and
Maintain physician log sheets and daily emergency activity log book
Notify hospital staff of all emergency and critical situations. Have a complete knowledge of hospital disaster plans and the ability to respond immediately following established procedures and protocols.
Record and monitor emergency situations, including: fire alarm panel, security panel, hospital panic alarms, Code Adam alerts, 911 calls and other emergency alarms in a rapid manner, accordingly to established protocols. Notify local police and/or fire when necessary.
Summons/dispatch/page all necessary personnel in an emergency situations. (Code Blue, Trauma, Respiratory, RRT etc.) and records in a daily journal.
Act as an answering service for several departments by locating and paging personnel.

Mercy Health Physicians-Youngstown is seeking a board certified or board eligible clinical cardiac electrophysiologist to join our Heart & Vascular Institute. Primary responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient clinical care and procedural competence in diagnostic electrophysiology studies, catheter ablations, and device implantation. Competency in complex ablation, lead extractions, and left atrial appendage closure is not required, but will be looked upon favorably. Candidates are expected to have completed fellowship training in clinical cardiac electrophysiology and be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
The Mercy Health Physicians Youngstown Heart & Vascular Institute is the largest and highest volume electrophysiology practice in the region, with a total of 15 employed cardiologists including 5 interventional cardiologists and 3 EP specialists. There are 13 advanced practice clinicians supporting delivery of care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position will be considered 100% electrophysiology, and the call model is 1:4 electrophysiology-only call. A newly built state-of-the-art electrophysiology lab and hybrid operating room, both equipped with 60 Vantage View monitors, have been added to an existing fully functional electrophysiology lab. Both electrophysiology labs are equipped with 3D mapping, with the team currently using Carto Biosense. Clinical research is ongoing and expanding, and our brand-new electrophysiology lab also includes a separate viewing room equipped with 2 viewing screens for education and training purposes.
The Mercy Health Heart & Vascular group also includes 3 board certified cardiothoracic surgeons and 4 board certified vascular surgeons, who collaborate with interventional cardiology and electrophysiology as part of a structural heart team. Electrophysiology and structural heart cases are supported by 3 cardiothoracic anesthesiologists who are board certified in TEE, as well as a team of CRNAs. The service line performs high volumes of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases annually. This specialist team is highly integrated and includes a multidisciplinary valve clinic that supports a robust TAVR and MitraClip program, and the electrophysiology group provides the only left atrial appendage closure and lead management programs in the region. The main campus hospital is a level 1 trauma center, is a certified stroke center, is chest pain certified with PCI, and is the only sepsis center of excellence in Ohio.

Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy both individually and in group settings at all Mercy Youngstown locations as needed. Evaluates quality and outcomes of the DSMES program. Collaborates with other departments to provide nutrition education to poor and underserved populations. Trains and directs team dietitians and support staff in daily tasks, policies and projects pertaining to the implementation of the DSMES program. The Clerical Associate in Radiology works under the direction of the Office Supervisor in conjunction with the Radiology Manager. Responsible for operating all necessary information systems to include scheduling patient procedures in computerized scheduling system and/or manually required. Obtains information to determine medical necessity is present for all testing prior to scheduling of exam(s). The Clerical Associate consults Radiologists, Technologists, or Management as needed to schedule. Routes any service calls to appropriate area. Possesses knowledge of all PC equipment and maintains the equipment for proper functioning. Can proficiently operate all office equipment to include accurately loading forms, paper, ribbons, and ink cartridges in printers. Stocks work area with clerical supplies as needed.

· Maintain accurate departmental records and files for EEG.
· Participate and assist in the departmental Performance Improvement Plan.
· Attend departmental and QA meetings as required by management.
· Completes month/year end reports and other related reports when necessary.
· Maintain safety and infection control measures.
· Report sentinel events and/or incident to Manager, Risk Management, Security, and/or Radiation Safety Officer in a timely manner.
· Serve as a preceptor to new employees and/or trainees.
· Maintain clinical competencies and credentialing.
· Perform Visual Evoked Response Study as requested by the Physician.
· Prepare completed study for Doctor interpretation. Perform 24 hour Ambulatory EEG Study as requested by the Physician. Prepare completed study for scanning and Doctor interpretation.
**Education:**
· Must have High School diploma or GED.
**Licensure/Certification:**
Applicant must have one of the following:
· Certified EEG technician, meeting CME requirements or ASET requirements
· Associate Degree in Allied Health field or trained by a Certified or Registered EEG technician with 6 months -1yr training or work experience as suggested by the ASET
· College credits in Basic Anatomy/ Physiology and EEG requirements.
· CPR certified
**Skills & Abilities:**
· EEG technical requirements as stated by the Department Neurologist.
· Demonstrates knowledge of basic EEG patterns and the ability to alert Physician as to high risk situations and respond to emergency situations appropriately.
· Knowledge of Visual Evoked Response Testing and 24 Hour Ambulatory EEG Testing.

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The virtual safety coordinator is responsible for overseeing the virtual safety companion workflow and virtual monitoring of the assigned patient population. This position evaluates patients utilizing this service and ensures the appropriate coverage for remote monitoring, answers escalation questions from the team and provides oversight during assigned shift. This role ensures patients are connected to the program appropriately and in a timely fashion as well as triaged and discharged from monitoring appropriately. The coordinator serves as a resource to the virtual safety companion, can provide intermittent coverage as needed, serves as a resource when patient conditions escalate and ensures the flow of patients within the program transitions smoothly.
Essential Job Functions
Serves as the primary position for admission of new patients into VSC service and triages patients off the VSC service.
Evaluates patient initiation criteria and assigns monitoring responsibilities to virtual safety companions.
Ensures patients in the program are appropriately connected to the camera device.
Serves as a support and additional resource for the virtual safety companion team, can cover patient monitoring intermittently as necessary.
Acts as a liaison between the virtual safety companion team, nursing staff and operations manager to provide seamless patient care services across the continuum.
Escalates patient conditions and status as necessary, provides guidance to virtual safety companions and oversees the workflow during assigned shift.
