The Opportunity: The Material Handler is responsible for bringing staged orders from the warehouse to the correct production line or staging racks, organizing staged jobs and working in cooperation with warehouse and production supervision to ensure jobs are properly staged for production, and is responsible for cleaning up and returning excess materials once the jobs are completed. What You'll Do: Bring staged orders (which include bulk and components) from the warehouse to the correct production line or to a location in the staging racks. Maintain organization of jobs that are staged in the staging racks. Work in cooperation with the warehouse and the production supervisor to ensure that jobs are properly staged before being removed from the warehouse. Work in cooperation with the production manager to ensure that jobs are run in the correct sequence. This includes keeping the staging boards in order. Must assist in the breaking down of boxes and removal of boxes from the floor to keep the production aisles clean and safe for production. When a job is completed, you must assist in returning excess components to the warehouse and Finished Goods pallets. These components must be placed on the proper returns pallets. Must be willing and able to assist productions as necessary. Must be able to comprehend the scheduling spreadsheet. Must understand how to use the different staging boards to distinguish between jobs that have been staged and jobs that still need to be staged. What You'll Bring: High School Diploma or Certificate; or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Familiar with the metric system. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to stand for 8 hours and able to lift 50 lbs. The Opportunity: The Sanitization Lead is responsible for developing, executing, and managing the sanitation and all equipment cleaning validation programs. In addition, to day-to-day execution, the Sanitation Validation Manager will contribute to strategic planning and long-term site readiness related to validation lifecycle management and sanitation infrastructure. What You'll Do: Disassemble, clean, sanitize, processing equipment such as kettles, CFA's, cooling, tunnels, incline conveyors, z elevators, bottling and packaging equipment, scoops, and all other machines, components and parts as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor. Lead and enforce the policies and procedures surrounding the food safety, sanitation, hygiene, environmental monitoring and pest control programs. Ensure facility compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal sanitation and cGMP regulations (21 CFR Part 111/117 and 21 CFR Part 210/211). Participates in internal/external audits. In instances of violations, develops/coordinates a cross-functional plan to correct the issues found. Processing a keen understanding of industry laws, then consult with management to address compliance issues and make recommendations to improve processes. Develop and maintain sanitation SOPs and the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) across all manufacturing shifts and areas. Keep detailed records of all sanitation-related activities and issues, such as inspections and violations, also noting how and when each situation was resolved. Develop and conduct cleaning validations on production equipment. Develop Validation Master Plan, process flow diagrams, and test cases in compliance with company standards, current industry standards, and regulatory expectations. Ensure cleaning validation protocols include visual inspection criteria, swab/surface testing (e.g., TOC, HPLC), and worst case scenario evaluations (e.g., allergen, active ingredient carryover). Chemical management. Identify deviations from established product or process standards and provide recommendations for resolving deviations. Write, review, and approve validation protocols and reports; ensures adherence to validation strategies aligned with product risk profiles. Coordinate the implementation or scheduling of validation testing with affected departments and personnel. Create, populate, or maintain databases for tracking validation activities, test results, or validated systems. What You'll Do as an Engineering Intern: As an Engineering Intern at Interplastic's Hawthorne plant, you will gain direct exposure to manufacturing operations, engineering processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll work closely with engineers, plant leaders, and cross-functional teams to support projects that impact production efficiency, quality, and safety. This internship is designed to provide practical engineering experience while helping you explore a career in manufacturing and materials science. What You Can Expect to Do in This Role: Support engineering projects related to manufacturing processes, equipment, and production improvements. Assist with data collection, analysis, and documentation to support engineering and operational decisions. Participate in plant floor activities, including process observations and troubleshooting. What We Are Looking For: Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field). Interest in manufacturing, process engineering, or industrial operations. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Willingness to learn and work in a team-based, plant environment. Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Word, email, etc.). Preferred (but Not Required): Prior internship, co-op, or hands-on project experience. Coursework related to manufacturing, process engineering, or materials science.
