This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm with up to 15% travel for training purposes. Expanded Function Dental Assistant Key Responsibilities: * Take and document patient health history and alert dentist to identified health risks. * Take and record patient vital signs prior to exam. * Perform oral procedures in accordance with formal training and State licensure scope. * Set up operatory appropriately for intended exam and or treatment. * Provide chairside assistance for the hygienist or dentist as directed. * Skilled in four-handed dentistry technique. * Provide patient teaching as needed. * Take xrays as directed by the hygienist or dentist. * Follow OSHA and Infection Control guidelines specific to: * Personal emergency treatment for blood or chemical in eyes * Instrument sterilization and storage * Bio-hazard waste handling, disposal and storage (including needles) * Wearing appropriate person protective gear during oral procedures * Assist with maintaining supply inventory. * Assist with monitoring equipment functionality for maintenance inter * A member of the dental care team in accordance with NNOHA and NCQA- Patient Centered Medical Home Standards * Participate in ongoing professional development training (as assigned). * Participated on content-specific committees or teams (as assigned). * Perform assigned duties that fall within your area of practice (i.e. front office tasks). You will be integral in providing professional medical care as a Medical Assistant to children and adults. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, day shift. Medical Assistant Key Responsibilities: * Assist patients with flow through the clinic and escorts patients to exam rooms. * Takes vital signs and prepares patients for provider assessment * Prepares exam rooms and instruments for examination and testing, and maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in all exam areas. * Sterilizes instruments as assigned. * Screens telephone calls for referral to interpret lab results, give advice etc. * Ensures that lab reports, x-rays and other information are in patient records. * Assist providers with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments as directed. * Remains in exam room with provider during patient exams as requested or assigned. * Follows infection control guidelines and ensures adherence to OSHA and CLIA protocols due to potential exposure to blood and body fluids. * Performs daily controls on equipment and maintains records/logs in accordance with regulations and protocol. * Prepares medications * Maintains CPR certification and licensure requirements. * Maintains patient confidentiality. * Completes weekly task assignment * Accurately triage walk in patients and call-ins. * Stock supplies in medical rooms prior to all shifts. * Check expiration dates on all pharmacy and other stored products. * Adheres to scheduling assignments * Attends required meetings, and in-services, and participates in committees as requested. * Performs other duties and activities, as per credentialed and proven skill level or incidental to the work and responsibilities of this position. * Use additional forms of telehealth to assist provider. * Provide health screening (PHQ9, Edinburgh Scale, and GAD 7) as needed to direct patients to needed medical care We Value Your Medical Assistant Experience and Education: * Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program * Certified through the Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants preferred * Six months to a year of work experience, preferably in clinic setting also preferred * A valid driver's license with a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance Why You should choose Meridian for your career as a Medical Assistant: * Unique Mission Innovative leader in integrated care and whole person health * Generous PTO and Paid Holidays * Opportunities for advancement * Comprehensive Benefit Package * 401k with Company match * Professional development funds for Licensure and Continuing Education * Personal Wellness and Financial Wellness Programs * Merit based pay compensation plans * Work-life harmony Drug screen, TB test, extensive background check, and fingerprinting are required of all Meridian employees.
