This Summer Internship will assist with the Forever in Your Heart bereavement program, a unique initiative that supports Parkview#s perinatal loss families by using 3D scanning and 3D printing to create personalized keepsake mementos. The Simulation Lab is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Medical Simulation team. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in both the technical and educational aspects of medical simulation. Interns will assist in the daily operations and facilitation of simulation-based training events, helping to create realistic learning experiences for healthcare professionals and students. In addition to supporting on-site simulations, the intern will also be able to work on mobile simulation projects deployed at various Parkview facilities and EMS service locations. A key component of this internship includes collaboration with the 3D printing team on projects that support simulation and medical training. Undergraduate internships are generally scheduled for the fall through spring semesters, with summer placements available less often. Essential Functions: Essential functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Co-facilitate and facilitate clinical interventions as appropriate to level of training and education. Completes all documentation in the electronic medical record as required by the organization's policies and procedures. Participates in staff meetings and/or peer consultations to plan and/or review and update client's treatment plan based upon their needs, progress and/or problems. Complete all necessary documentation and experiences required by the academic institution where the student is enrolled. Responsibilities: Serves on ad hoc and community committees as requested. Assists with general office duties when necessary (i.e. answering telephone, copying, etc.) Read pertinent professional literature as well as applicable procedures and regulations. TIME MANAGEMENT: Makes efficient use of work time to accomplish assignments as well as the ability to adapt or respond to change in the work environment in a way that promotes the organization's goals and objectives. TEAMWORK: Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of the departmental team to facilitate the meeting of departmental goals and objective SAFETY: Responsible for following all organization and department precautions and procedures in the performance of all duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others. CONTINUING EDUCATION: Participates in professional development and in-service programs as required by position.
