Meridian Health Services is currently seeking a part time Assistant Social Worker to work weekends with our multidisciplinary inpatient psychiatric team located at River Bend Hospital, in West Lafayette, IN. The successful candidate effectively communicates (verbally and in writing) with clients, members of the treatment team, social service agencies, care providers, families, and others; utilizes available technology to communicate efficiently and provide for the protection and care of the individual; is able to use skills to de-escalate agitated persons; is able to understand and tolerate constructive criticism and accept input from many different team members.
This is a part time position working evenings and weekends, 29 hours per week.
Assistant Social Worker Key Responsibilities:
Assists Social Worker or Therapist in developing and writing treatment plans.
Produces positive treatment outcomes with individuals.
Assists in psychosocial assessments.
Provides individual and group treatment to patients.
Maintains relevant and timely progress/contact notes in the EMR system.
Assists in providing individual and group therapy.
Provides crisis intervention as trained.
Provides education to clients and/or family members.
Performs all duties in a manner consistent with Meridian Health Services standards, policies and procedures and regulations and in accordance with local, state and federal laws and with ethical standards of profession.
Actively participates in professional growth and continuing education activities.

Job Summary and Qualifications
Assess, treats and cares for patients with pulmonary disorders. Responsible for the clinical administration of all therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care modalities offered by the department.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:
Education: Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
Experience: One year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
1. Required:
A. Must possess a current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, from the Texas Medical Board, to practice Respiratory Care in the State of Texas.
B. Must possess a current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) OR must possess a current credential as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) BEFORE July 1, 2002 (Grandfathered CRT).
C. Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of employment.
2. Preferred:
A. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) must be obtained within 90 days of employment if required by department.
Essential Job Functions:
Operates and sets up devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration, aerosol generators, and disposable respiratory care products while following specific parameters for treatment.
Provides emergency care, including artificial ventilation, external cardiac massage, and assists staff with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Collects and analyzes arterial blood gases and is able to recognize normal, abnormal and critical values and able to provide appropriate corrective intervention.
Follows physician orders for treatment and evaluates requirements for treatment, such as treatment type, mode and duration of therapy, universal precautions, and medication dosage.
Monitors patient's response to therapy by evaluation of vital signs, arterial blood gases, auscultation of breath sounds, pulse oximetry and end-tidal CO2 measurement.
Consults with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals for changes in patient's status and works as part of the team to manage the patient's plan of care.

Medical Assistant Key Responsibilities:

* Takes vital signs and prepares patients for provider assessment

* Sterilizes instruments as assigned.
* Screens telephone calls for referral to interpret lab results, give advice etc.
* Ensures that lab reports, x-rays and other information are in patient records.
* Assist providers with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments as directed.
* Remains in exam room with provider during patient exams as requested or assigned.
* Follows infection control guidelines and ensures adherence to OSHA and CLIA protocols due to potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
* Performs daily controls on equipment and maintains records/logs in accordance with regulations and protocol.
* Prepares medications
* Maintains CPR certification and licensure requirements.
* Maintains patient confidentiality.
* Completes weekly task assignment
* Accurately triage walk in patients and call-ins.
* Stock supplies in medical rooms prior to all shifts.
* Check expiration dates on all pharmacy and other stored products.
* Adheres to scheduling assignments
* Attends required meetings, and in-services, and participates in committees as requested.
* Performs other duties and activities, as per credentialed and proven skill level or incidental to the work and responsibilities of this position.
* Use additional forms of telehealth to assist provider.
* Provide health screening (PHQ9, Edinburgh Scale, and GAD 7) as needed to direct patients to needed medical care

Job Summary and Qualifications
General Statement of Duties:Working under the supervision and guidance of a Respiratory Therapist, the extern will assess, treat and care for patients with pulmonary disease processes or respiratory care orders. Primarily responsible for noninvasive respiratory care modalities, maintaining patient records and operations of respiratory care equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Sets up and operates therapeutic gas administration, aerosol generators, and disposable medical products, following specific parameters for treatment.
2. Provides emergency care, including artificial ventilation, external cardiac message, and assists with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
3. Evaluates requirements for treatment, such as treatment type, mode and duration of therapy, universal precautions, medication and dosage, in accordance with physician orders.
4. Monitors physiological response to therapy, such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, auscultation, and consults with the preceptor and/or shift supervisor for changes in patient status.
5. Reads prescriptions, and reviews patient information to assess the patient's condition.
6. Works as part of a team of physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to manage patient care, enforce safety rules, and ensures adherence to the physician's orders.
