Your mission will be to: Purpose (Objective):The incumbent prepares samples for processing and maintains documentation of process to facilitate testing procedures. Main activities: ● Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending ● Write identification onto plates so that client and sample number can be tracked ● Pipette sample solution into tubes or plates according to the analysis process being performed ● Pour the agar into plates or tubes to begin the growth process ● Collect plates and place them in the incubator for the specified amount of time and temperature ● Prepare media and broth for use in pathogen testing as required ● Ensure that media and materials are prepared for the next testing sequence ● Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that is required to complete job responsibilities ● Set up equipment and materials needed for analysis ● Read plates and tubes, as required, to determine the number of organisms in the sample ● Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process ● Perform necessary housekeeping duties in a timely manner, keeping the work areas and equipment clean and sanitized ● Must participate in cleaning schedule and maintain retain samples as required ● Adhere to all safety policies ● Responsibility to support laboratory management in the implementation maintenance, and improvement of the management system ● Perform other related tasks as needed YOUR PROFILE Must be able to work evenings and a Saturday Profile (required education/qualification and professional background): HS Diploma and 1+ year relevant work. The incumbent must have a basic knowledge of science to accurately perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results. A basic knowledge of personal computers is useful to accurately enter testing data and results. A basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and policies is necessary to ensure a safe working environment. Planning skills are useful to maintain supplies of analysis materials and ensure analysis is completed within specified time. Required skills: Time management skills, ability to prioritize samples and tasks in a fast paced environment. Attention to detail. Analytical skills are essential to complete analysis procedures and determine the concentration of the microorganism. A general knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System is required to process client data. Physical dexterity is required for manipulating samples. Work Environment: The incumbent works in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials will occur when in the laboratory. Safety equipment of gloves, laboratory coat and eyeglasses may need to be worn depending on the testing process. The incumbent may use the autoclave daily to complete the analysis process. Continuous lifting of analysis materials weighing up to 50 pounds are necessary to transport media materials. The incumbent can expect extended time spent in a standing position. Summary: This position is for a part-time casual (as needed/PRN) Procedural Rad Tech opening at Dublin Methodist Hospital, located in Dublin, Ohio. Part-time casual associates do not have a regular weekly schedule but are required to work 96 hours within a 6-month period on as needed basis. Cath Lab Specific: The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Cardiologist for diagnostic and interventional procedures in roles that include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. The technologist must have knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, hemodynamic monitoring, coronary and peripheral anatomy, and sterile technique. Vascular Interventional (VIR) Specific: The VIR Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Radiologist for minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures in roles that include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. The technologist must have knowledge of the various imaging equipment in use including fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound. Responsibilities And Duties: 85% Radiologic technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventionalist in specific area as described above in summary for each area. 10% Greets patients upon arrival to department. Checks chart for required data (i.e., informed consent). Reports absences or abnormalities to RN/physician. Explains procedures, gives instructions, and answers patients' questions. Participates in room turnover and transporting of patients. (5%) Assists Radiation Safety officer in QA of labs and radiation protective apparel on regular basis. Performs tasks using radiation safety principles; checks lead aprons for tears; reports findings and removes inadequate gear from service; maintains accurate records or work with Radiology department to maintain records. Job Summary: Perform analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmentals. The position performs the application and evaluation of approved microbiological techniques and methodologies. Essential Responsibilities: * Accurately perform and read test results and notify Laboratory Management of deviations * Prepare and analyze samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries * Apply aseptic/microbiological techniques in daily workload * Report inventory and expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements * Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, trash disposal, and equipment quality control * Assist in quality duties to by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc. * Pursue an assigned series of processes, procedures, or techniques in accordance with FSNS policies/procedures and customer requirements * Maintain a high degree of technical competence by reading scientific journals, attending professional workshops, and being aware of food industry issues and trends * Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner * Share information in an open and timely manner * Assisting with managing priorities and schedule such that individual goals as well as team goals are achieved with encouraged participation in the Food Safety Net Services Team * Responsible for the safety of oneself and others working within their area Supervision: * This job does has no supervisory responsibilities.
