SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Performs a variety of medical assembly and processing tasks as a production team member, including performing various technical assembly tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
1. May include but not limited to performing one or more processes within quality specifications while visually monitoring the machines/equipment used to ensure proper function.
2. Ability to rotate through the assembly line, performing all production assembly operations.
3. Performs on-line and in-process visual inspection of products to ensure it meets specifications per work order and procedure instructions.
4. Assists Team Leader and Technicians with product and/or machine change-overs.
5. Operates equipment at or above reasonable expectancy levels.
6. Ensures product assembled meets quality standards.
7. Rejects product outside of specifications.
8. Adheres to safety standards.
9. May operate a variety of testing equipment required for periodic product and process testing.
10. Working overtime may be required for this position.
11. Performs other related assembly and processing tasks, as required.

The operator must conduct quality checks, troubleshoot machine issues, and document production activities to ensure consistency and adherence to industry standards. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment are essential for success in this role.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Keep all encapsulation equipment and areas clean. Documenting cleaning and operating frequency.
Wear appropriate safety equipment and personal protective equipment. Remaining alert and aware of work operations to avoid accidents and incidents.
Follow established hygienic practices to include wearing of appropriate garments, personal hygiene, hand washing and sanitization prior to work and at any time during working hours.
Operate encapsulation machines, polishers, capsule inspection tables, filters, in accordance with good practices and current SOPs.
Monitor batch production to ensure documentation is correct; product meets batch requirements, BOM is correct; capsules meet target weights, and completes documentation and mathematical calculations without error.
Perform first echelon maintenance on machines regularly and report any concerns or damages to the supervisor immediately.
Work scheduled shifts and overtime as required to meet assigned goals.
Report to the Supervisor all concerns of possible contamination, equipment damage, hygiene issues, illnesses, batch and BOM issues, and any other concerns that relate to Good Manufacturing Practices. When in doubt, ask questions and seek assistance from supervisor, managers, or other operators.
In any case during the shift, Manger can direct to perform a different work task or support a different department for business needs, Dosing operators can also verify what BIO is in process to pulling work order build of materials empty capsules, blend, empty plastic pallets, empty barrels or totes.
Follow the established 5s process in your department. Everyone in Manufacturing is responsible to support and follow any 5s implementations in the department; return all pallet jacks to proper storage areas, remove all trash, empty wood or plastic pallets, properly store all tooling equipment, cleaning equipment and materials in process.
Fully ready room for next shift, ensuring the cleanliness of the room and equipment is completed. The operator is responsible for guaranteeing that there is no excess blend left on any surface including equipment, tables, floor etc. at end of shift or overnight. This includes removing all trash and cardboard to appropriate discard area, putting all equipment, tools, and supplies in their proper location, and making sure the floor is properly swept.
Job Requirements:
Is attentive and follows safe work practices.
Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. or more while working standing for long periods of time at assigned machine. Frequent bending and lifting overhead.
Able to operate encapsulation equipment with proficiency and in accordance with current SOPs.
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience sufficient to:
Proficiently read, speak, and write English to meet FDA requirements for record keeping and encapsulation purposes.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Associate II to support our CMC-GMP team. The Manufacturing Associate II will be responsible for performing complex, highly specialized and time sensitive technical cell manipulations and testing procedures on irreplaceable cellular products during clinical manufacturing.

What You'll Do:
As a Manufacturing Associate II, you will play a key role in supporting our manufacturing operations:
Knowledge of current cGMP.
Fulfill the operator and verifier roles in performing cell growth and manipulation procedures such as cell enrichment, cell culture, cellular product cryopreservation, cell product thaw/wash.
Accurately perform procedures in compliance with FDA's Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Tissue practices, as well as standards set by other accreditation agencies including but not limited to FACT, CAP, and CLIA.
Adhere to ALCOAC++ and cGDocP requirements while accurately performing procedures and maintaining documentation in compliance with SOPs.
Document deviations and events, notify supervisor and quality management personnel in timely manner, and assist in investigation of root cause and any required corrective actions.
Responsible for aseptic handling of reagents and products to ensure the integrity and sterility of cellular products until final infusion to the patient. Must adhere to special cleaning and gowning requirements for the facility requiring specialized gowning such as masks, sterile jumpsuits, hair and shoe covers.
Ability to work productively and to participate in a highly creative and fast-paced environment.
Secondary Functions:
Independently perform calculations to determine cell viability, dilutions, and cell concentrations.
Completes all appropriate logs and trackers.
Maintains GMP cleanliness: autoclaving, bleaching liquid waste, removing waste, general cleanliness and organization of the office and facility.
Maintains knowledge regarding donor evaluation, screening and testing, labeling and product acceptability and release criteria.
Conducts activities to support study plans, and IQ/OQ/PQs.
Provide input or feedback regarding change controls, WI, SOPs, study plans, reports, deviations, OOS/OOE, and CAPA's as directed.
Performs routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Prepares and presents manufacturing summaries, as needed
Required Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree in biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or another related field.
Two (2) to Four (4) years of cell therapy manufacturing experience.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operates Machinery:
Set-up machine to machine specifications and best practices to meet production specifications
Responsible to convert the correct materials to work order specifications
Responsible for execution of trials and recording of results as needed
Ensure that quality documents are completed and legible at appropriate stages of production
Train Manufacturing Associates using the passport program
Continually work towards passport program Manufacturing Operator I completion
Safety and Environmental Compliance:
Complies with safety rules and standards
Immediately reports any unsafe conditions to the shift supervisor, group lead or manager
Reports any concerns of potentially harmful environmental practices to the Shift Supervisor and/or Management
Ensure compliance with standard work and other applicable manufacturing standards
Identifies and communicates near misses and safety incidents
Manage Production Schedule:
Run any production line as required
Support initiatives from other departments; e.g. Quality, Engineering, Customer Care etc
Ensure compliance with production schedule and communicate when output targets are not met
Support material handling as required
Manage downtime effectively (efficient changeovers / start-ups)
Process Improvement, and Maintenance:
Support continuous improvement projects to address downtime and inefficiencies
Identify and communicate areas for Kaizen or other continuous improvement initiative
Maximize through-put and uptime
Identify and communicate maintenance issues with the production lines (enter work orders)
Troubleshoot machines as required, request support for issues identified
Training:
Keep passport up to date and obtain sign-offs when competent
Train other employees and sign off passports
Visual Factory Goal:
Keep the factory “customer ready” at all times
Manage all point of use storage systems and ensure they are properly filled
Assist in managing all Kanban's

Position Overview

What you'll do:

Safely and efficiently operate the equipment
Recognizes when the output is not meeting job specification quality at the source

Completes all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
Accurately sorts all cards and mail to ensure proper order
Notifies Production Supervisor of any quality issues, spoilage or reprints that are required
