Utilizes cost estimate experience to generate and drive schedules based on project scope while ensuring sub-contractors are held to the approved timelines and schedule deadlines.
Provide innovative solutions to complex issues as they arise related to cost, lead-times, vendors, and/or specified products or materials.
Produce progress estimates at design milestones, evaluate material and system costs, review document progress and coordination, build and maintain vendor relationships.
Coordinate and assure that a preliminary construction schedule has been developed for each estimate.
Assist in preparing subcontractor bid lists and send Requests for Proposals to subs.
Assure that the estimates, including general conditions, are accurate, complete, and reflect the actual requirements of the project.
Support value engineering sessions with the project team and design team.
Assure that potential risk factors have been evaluated and reviewed with leadership.
Assist in reviewing and evaluate bids and proposals from vendors.
Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain superior relationships with all client representatives, vendors and project partners.
Organize project job site to include all required permits, drawings, specifications, safety manuals, safety equipment. Ensure this area is kept organized, secure and does not interfere with the customer's day to day operations.

Determine what items require shop drawings and submittals for coordination purposes and ensure they are processed in a timely manner. Must maintain approved submittals and shop drawings in job binder available for reference by owner / architect during job site visits.
Review, understand and ensure all specified finishes, fixtures and hardware are being used and installed per plans.
Recognize conflicts ahead of time by completing a thorough project layout validating locations for all new project elements above ceiling, as well as in wall switches and controls prior to rough in.
Oversee and ensure effective execution of contracted work by providing detailed coordination of daily work activities with sub-contractors and client vendors.
Maintain master project schedule and ensure two-week look ahead schedules are updated and distributed weekly to project team.
Ensure all impacts to the master schedule are documented and notify the Project Manager immediately. Distribute updated schedules to project team as required.
Ensure all changes in the work follow company change procedures and have all required approvals prior to proceeding with the work.
Accurately record daily work activities and project procurement activities in the daily report. Include photo documentation as required.
Effectively communicate issues in the field as they arise by notifying the PM and documenting in writing and with photos.
Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must.
Travel is required.
Required Experience:
Minimum 3 yrs. prior experience as a traveling Superintendent in the following sectors: retail financial services, critical facilities, restaurant - retail, and industrial.
Proven track record of successful project completion from Kick-Off through close out.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Superintendent is responsible for driving the project forward from start to finish on time and within the budget. You must be able to develop good relationship with the subcontractors who partner with Benning to produce quality work, and to train tomorrow's construction leaders. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
10+ years of commercial construction industry experience overseeing new construction projects/trades with value of $8M or more.
Experience building at least one ground up grocery store (Publix, Kroger, Aldi, Lidl, WalMart Supercenter, Target, Costco, etc.).
Advanced understanding and experience with complex site work.
Ability to travel throughout the Southeast (AL, FL, GA, NC, SC, TN, VA).
Ability to read and understand how the plans, specifications and general and special conditions affect the overall success of the project.
Maintain construction schedules and perform regular updates.
Coordination of jobsite logistics.
Organization and an eye for detail throughout the entire project.
Effective communication with the Project Team, proving and receiving feedback in a manner that fosters success.
Set up project safety requirements and schedule Tool Box Talks.
