    This part time position is for an armed security officer at various locations in the Cincinnati and Dayton area to include surrounding locations that require armed guard services. This is an ideal position for retired military/law enforcement personnel looking for minimal hours. Availability is either days or nights, weekends, weekdays. All applicants should be available on holidays as all guards usually rotate holidays. All part timer guards must work a minimum set number of hours each month to maintain their employment. All armed security officers provide services at designated federal buildings/installations. There are opportunities to become full time, but all new hires are hired on a part time basis only. Synopsis FPS Protective Security Officers (PSOs) are primarily responsible to perform security and monitoring work such as securing federal buildings and property, protecting personnel, equipment and material, and controlling access to work locations by employees and visitors. The PSO will respond to emergencies, conduct inspections and perimeter checks, and access control. Licensing Requirements All applicants must have a valid OPOTA Certification (Ohio Armed Security License (issued by the State of Ohio). Job Requirements · Clean background check (no felonies or domestic violence/assault charges) · U.S. Citizen / hold a social security card · Must have a high school diploma or GED · Minimum of 21 years of age · Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English · Pass a Medical Evaluation (to be paid for by the company) · Drug Screen (to be paid for by the company) · The company will assist in processing for federal background clearances Only those applicants with 2 years as a licensed armed guard, OR current/previous military (with honorable discharge), OR former law enforcement will be considered. Certification Requirements · OPOTA Certification. DO NOT APPLY if you do not have a valid/current OPOTA certification as you will not be considered. · Valid Driver's License · CPR/First Aid/AED (training provided by the company) Training Requirements All applicants must be 100% trained in both classroom and range/weapons prior to standing post. The government requires that all applicants attend: · 1 week of classroom training and 1 week of range training, followed by 2 days of x-ray/screening training. All training is paid for by the company and all applicants will receive training pay. · All uniforms/gear/duty weapon/ammo is provided by the company. · All guards on this contract belong to a union. Pay Cincinnati employees: $36.75 base pay + $5.40 for health and welfare per hour. Dayton employees: $30.82 base pay + $5.15 for health and welfare per hour.     Job Description: This position is for an armed security guard at various Federal Sites in and around Cincinnati. FPS Protective Security Officers (PSOs) are primarily responsible to perform security and monitoring work such as securing federal buildings and property, protecting personnel, equipment and material, and controlling access to work locations by employees and visitors. The PSO will respond to emergencies, conduct inspections and perimeter checks, and access control. All applicants must be able to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance. This background is conducted by the US Government and will review all work history, residential/living history, credit report, etc. This process can take up to 3-6 months. To be eligible to apply for this position, the following requirements must be met: 1. Obtain a TS security clearance (the company will assist in this process) 2. Complete all security clearance processes to include fingerprints. 3. Must have a valid drivers license 4. Must be a US citizen 5. Must have a copy of your birth certificate 6. Must have a copy of your high school/GED or college transcripts 7. Must have your OPOTA from Ohio to perform as an armed guard. 8. Must be able to pass a medical and drug screen. Required Training: Upon obtaining the required security clearances, all applicants must be able to pass: 1. First aid/AED/CPR course. 2. OC Spray and expandable baton course. 3. Weapons training course (this is a 3 day course in Cincinnati) 4. Various other in person class room training requirements and OJT training. 5. X-Ray screening training Licensing Requirements All applicants must have a valid Ohio Armed Security License (issued by the State of Ohio). Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy and makes appropriate recommendations. Provides appropriate ventilator support and maintains and monitors other cardiopulmonary life support equipment. Maintains and properly utilizes respiratory care equipment. Essential Functions Demonstrates knowledge in various modes and methods of oxygen delivery and the equipment needed for each and can conduct prescribed therapeutic procedures to achieve adequate oxygenation. Administers therapeutic procedures, understanding the purpose and benefits, and possible effects associated with each. Performs diagnostic procedures as outlined in policy. Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilators and is aware of the critical care duties and effects of such therapy. Independently evaluates current therapies using appropriate judgment and protocols, making proper recommendations concerning plans of care and patient education needs. Documents therapy and results as required by hospital, department and regulatory agencies. Communicates information to appropriate members of the healthcare team. Initiates, conducts and modifies respiratory care techniques in an emergency setting. Performs and evaluates blood sampling analysis with a thorough understanding of the values, and the importance and treatment of abnormal results. Works independently in all patient care areas and assists co-workers with patient care whenever possible. Is proficient in the electronic medical records and its interface with the Respiratory Care Department. Follows departmental safety guidelines. Completes all regulatory requirements. Completes annual proficiency evaluation of respiratory care equipment and procedures. Physical Requirements Requires repetitive physical activity. Able to walk and stand to perform duties. Ability to lift materials 20-50 pounds. Ability to move patients of all age groups. Adequate hearing and eyesight is necessary. Exposures to working environment that may include odors, low lighting, and crowded working conditions. Education, Experience and Certifications Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care. Associateï ½s RRT or RRT Equivalent required, Bachelors degree preferred. Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support for healthcare providers thru the American Heart Association. Advanced certifications per facility policy/standards. For free-standing Emergency Department and Virtual Critical Care, 2 years critical care experience required.
