The business is currently comprised of a wide variety of industrial projects, including heavy retrofit, life extension, and advanced technology development projects in a variety of industrial environments, including manufacturing facilities, food and personal care production facilities, power plants, refineries, as well as advanced technology projects in the bioprocessing space, including biofuels, biochemicals, waste to energy, and renewable natural gas. Candidate should be experienced at managing some or many of these types of projects in different industries. The position can be located in any one of the six Energy/ Manufacturing/ Bioprocessing Business Unit locations: Greenwood Village (Denver Metro), Colorado; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Baltimore, Maryland; Richmond, Virginia; or Newport News, Virginia. Typical annual pay range for this position is $155,000.00 - $200,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience. Once trained, a hybrid schedule will be supported. WHAT YOU'LL DO The project manager is ultimately responsible for project success and the client's satisfaction, with an emphasis on cultivating client relationships and winning future work. The vast majority of our work comes from repeat business with the project manager consistently delivering quality for our clients. As such, the project manager will: * Oversee project planning, earned value management, technical leadership, quality control, and client satisfaction. * Manage project teams with multi-discipline engineering discipline leads. * Master and implementing industry best practices from PMI, CII and AACE. * Inform engineering discipline leads of resource requirements. * Travel to client sites several times per month for the purposes of design meetings and developing new work. * Contribute to business development and meeting with clients to develop scopes of work. * Contribute to corporate and business unit strategic planning efforts. * Meet with clients to prepare and/or validate proposed scope of work. Job Description AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Technician/Treatment System Operator for employment in Richmond, VA. In this full-time role as an AECOM Field Services (AFS) employee, you will primarily work with the Site Manager to support remedial operations, maintenance, and monitoring projects at client facilities. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in general operations and environmental remediation/sampling. Hands-on mechanical experience and interests are preferred (e.g., construction, pump maintenance, pipe assembly, and instrumentation calibrations). The successful candidate will be part of a team operating a groundwater extraction and treatment system. The groundwater extraction and treatment system is designed to capture groundwater, remove organic chemicals by treatment on-site, and discharge the treated water. The process starts with the collection of the groundwater utilizing extraction wells. The water is then transferred to a central treatment system. Treatment by precipitation, settling, particulate filtration, and granular activated carbon (GAC) filtration takes place prior to effluent discharge. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Routine fieldwork (such as environmental multi-media sampling, operations, maintenance, and inspection of groundwater treatment equipment) working under close supervision and at times alone. Sampling groundwater Influent and Effluent from groundwater treatment systems primarily for volatile organic compounds. Preparing chains-of-custody and sample cooler loading in preparation for transport to contracted analytical laboratories. Performing various operations and maintenance activities associated with remediation systems involving extraction of organics, performing recovery system maintenance as needed, groundwater monitoring, and compilation of field data. Assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment (sampling devices and pumps), inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation. Driving AECOM-leased site vehicles. Control treatment plant machines and equipment to treat water for industrial use: Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of raw water into treating plant. Monitor that specified amounts of chemicals are being supplied as required such as polymer into water or adjusts automatic devices that admit specified amounts of chemicals into tanks to treat the water. Operate valves to regulate water through filter beds to remove impurities. Monitor the pumping of treated water through the effluent / outfall. Monitors panelboard and adjusts controls to regulate flow rates, loss of head pressure and water elevation, and distribution of water. Cleans tanks and filter beds, using backwashing. Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment, using hand tools and power tools. Tests water samples to determine acidity, color, and impurities, using colorimeter, turbidimeter, and conductivity meter. Operate centrifuge as required to process solids. Participate in amending / developing procedures (as needed) for the operation of the treatment facility. Adhere to the site's General Site Conditions. Adhering to the plant's O&M, Waste Management and Health and Safety Plan Oversee contractors as directed. Capable of functioning with spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Must possess a High School Diploma (or GED). Due to the nature of this work US Citizenship required. Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check; many projects/ clients are security sensitive and require periodic post-employment background checks. Ability to pass a client-mandated drug test. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line. This position is expected to begin immediately. The Geologist III will serve as a team member in the office and the field, assisting project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment, soil gas, and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation. The role will be responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project-specific objectives and policies. The department is involved in many on-going efforts and continue to utilize top talent to exceed performance expectations. The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to: + Collaborate with team members and project managers to meet client needs on schedule and within budget. + Utilize various techniques to generate data from remedial or investigative field work.
