Principal Responsibilities * Safely supervise Messer-approved contractors and customer's agents to install and start up Messer's industrial gas applications. Applications include cryogenic food freezing and chilling systems, combustion panels and burner systems, controlled atmosphere mixing panels and injection systems, chemical and pharmaceutical applications, hydrogen fuel cell delivery systems, laser gas delivery systems, etc. * Provide technical support to customers using Messer's application equipment, including remote/on-site troubleshooting support, and on-site equipment assessments, diagnostics, and repairs. * Provide detailed technical knowledge to customers and contractors on specific Messer technology regarding safety, electrical, mechanical, and process requirements. Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes. * Provide specialized labor during equipment installation and start up, with post-installation assistance and support as needed. * Ensure overall safe equipment start up requirements are met during equipment installations, including conducting cryogenic liquid safe handling and equipment operations training sessions for Messer provided application equipment. * Ensure documentation of customer start up is completed - safety function check lists, training with attendance sheets, receipt of manuals, atmospheric monitoring requirements and function tests, etc. * Participate in customer's and Messer Hazop reviews. * Maintain self-paced training via Traccess training program and achieve established training targets. * Provide sales and engineering team support in determining costs for projects. Support project managers in maintaining project budgets, installation timelines, and customer expectations. * Provide written documentation to the engineering team on identified opportunities of improvement for Messer application equipment and process. * Perform other duties as assigned.
