    To provide leadership and direction to the Shipping and Receiving department in areas of responsibility including inventory control, shipping, receiving, scheduling, quality, safety and environmental. Responsibilities Receives incoming freight and enters receiving information into the mainframe to maintain efficient inventory control. Determines work priorities, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow. Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures. Collaborates with Home Office managers and supervisors to ensure coordination of special mailings, inventory management and quality assurance. Studies and standardizes procedures to assure the timely, accurate and efficient processing of all shipping and receiving functions. Works with department representatives to analyze shipping needs to determine the best method of shipment (packaging and transportation). Responsible for maintaining and updating all shipping records. Negotiates with shipping vendors and logistics companies to procure the best service and price possible. Performs all duties of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk as needed. Develops and maintains a well-trained staff. Maintains discipline, resolves problems, determines performance and recommends promotions, transfers or dismissals. Performs other duties as requested.
