Reporting to the Engineering Manager, a Project Engineer will support OEM contract manufacturing projects and design of Metalcraft of Mayville Attachments (buckets, grapples, augers, stump grinder, etc.). This position is responsible for releasing engineering documentation that will meet or exceed the OEM customer's design expectations. This position also includes project management activities to ensure projects get into production with minimal problems as well as managing customer engineering revisions.
This position also includes the design of Attachments for our Scag compact construction equipment. This includes design from the ground up through prototyping, testing, functional validation, and into production.
This role requires collaboration with our internal teams, customers, and suppliers to best support the product through the design cycle and into production.
Responsibilities
Manage 3D models and drawings for new or changing OEM products within agriculture, construction, industrial, and military industries.
Take full ownership of your engineering documents (drawings, models, BOM's, and shop routings) related to assigned projects.
Collaborate design changes and assist customers with design for manufacturability opportunities.
Provide technical support and coordinate project management activities with internal departments including: tooling, quality, purchasing, production planning, sales, production personnel, and shipping.
Design of attachments for compact construction equipment. Includes design from cradle to grave: design investigation, modeling, detailing, design documentation, costing, supplier interaction & selection, design validation including finite element analysis reviews and testing, engineering change notices, and releasing to production.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the role
Bachelor's Degree in MechanicalEngineering required.
Minimum 5 years of experience with Medium Voltage equipment or similar industry
Strong solid modeling experience required.
Experience with sheet metal parts, insulation material and related components.
Familiarity with UL and ANSI standards for cabinets and clearance requirements for electrical components.

Purpose
MechanicalEngineering collaborates closely with the Electrical Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Sales groups to develop and sustain the best plastics auxiliary equipment in the world. As a Principal MechanicalEngineer, this position will provide guidance and oversight to multiple teams working on numerous products or developing various forms of technologies. In addition to strong technical skills, a Principal Engineer must demonstrate leadership, strategic thinking, and long-range goal planning. Reporting to the General Manager - Pinconning, this position provides an excellent opportunity for personal and career growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Continually grow expertise in the broad Conair product line
· Develop collaborative relationships with key product stakeholders to help drive good customer requirements, innovation, and effective decisions
· Provide technical expertise/drive best practices in the areas of design, development, qualification, and validation of Conair equipment, processes, systems, and components.
· Cultivate an environment which encourages teamwork, innovation, trust, and customer inspired motivation
· Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Service, and Quality teams to manage schedules and deliverables
· Maintain OTD of drawing releases to meet our customer's delivery dates
· Provide root cause analysis of product issues with effective solutions and design enhancements
· Orchestrate design reviews from the conceptual phase through to final design release
· Assist in the creation of complete drawing packages including detailed specifications, simulation, test results, verification support documentation, bill of materials, and marketing/support literature
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers and designers, while constantly striving to get better at what we do
Qualifications and Work Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in MechanicalEngineering or MechanicalEngineering Technology, extensive relevant experience will be considered without formal education, Advanced Technical or MBA degree a plus
· 10+ years relevant experience, particularly in the design and development of complex machinery
· Experience with the full life cycle of bringing products to market with a record of successful completion of products and introduction into the marketplace
· Demonstrated ability to lead others in a cross-functional organization, while working independently when needed to achieve desired results
· Practical experience with failure analysis and troubleshooting
· Analysis of design components including Finite Element Analysis, thermal, shock, and vibration
· Proficient in the use of MCAD design tools, specifically SolidWorks
· Working knowledge of electrical power/controls
· Ability to travel 5% of the time (almost entirely in USA)
· Practical experience with DFM/DFA methodologies is a plus

JOB FUNCTION:

This Opportunity
For over 40 years the Komline-Filtra team has specialized in custom engineered industrial and separation filtration solutions serving industries such as metalworking, water/wastewater treatment, chemical, mining, and steel. With over 60 patents and 21,000 systems installed across 37 countries, Komline-Filtra Systems offers a wide range of products ranging from water purification, coolant/oil filtration, air/mist collectors, and pressure filters.
Project Engineers focus on ensuring all design documentation related to the construction of equipment, products and services are generated and distributed to appropriate parties to ensure successful completion. The position participates in all aspects of project related activities from drawing and BoM management, shop drawings, timeline generation, cost management, in-shop acceptance testing, and field commissioning.
A successful candidate will have the knowledge and capability to interface with a cross-functional team of engineers to successfully meet customer expectations. The candidate shall possess sufficient knowledge of mechanical design and fabrication practices to support and execute various product development and construction projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Design and detail parts and assemblies utilizing 3D (SolidWorks, etc.) and 2D (AutoCAD, etc.) software
Interface with designers and engineers in team environment
Generate documentation to facilitate manufacture of products including drawings, bills of material, material specifications and design files
Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and customers as necessary to satisfy various design requirements
Generating and maintaining project engineering planning documents (Gnatt charts, drawing records, etc..) to communicate project status
Complete, document and provide engineering designs, calculations, processes and procedures relevant to assigned projects
Checks work of others, as necessary, for the successful completion of assigned projects
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability
Promotes and encourages a culture of knowledge generation and distribution pertaining to products, services, and technology
Maintains a positive attitude toward others at all time
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Manufacturing, etc.) and minimum relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience
Bachelor's Degree and minimum of five (5) years relevant experience
Proficient with SolidWorks, 2D Cad tools such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
Ability to use time management skills, multitasking, and work flexibility to maintain project schedules
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to learn and apply new tools in order to maintain cutting edge technology.
Ability to maintain project files for ease of access for updates and changes.
Design knowledge and component selection of sheet metal fabrication (material specifications, manufacturing processes, equipment capabilities).
Design knowledge and component selection of piping systems (pumps, valves, filters, fittings, ASME and AWS specifications).
Design knowledge and component selection of refrigeration systems (compressors, valves, evaporators, condensers)
Design knowledge and component selection of industrial ventilation systems (industrial blowers, valves, ductwork, ASHRAE and NFPA specifications)
Must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. May be required to lift, push or pull 50 pounds or more using cart or hand truck
Potential for up to 10% travel time

The Energy Engineer provides technical expertise and field-based support for energy performance improvement across plant utilities and industrial systems. This role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs), supporting an energy management system that is certified to the ISO 50001 standard, and optimizing systems such as process heating, compressed air, dust collection, pumps, and fans, among others. Working collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams, the Energy Engineer leverages data from submetering and automation systems to deliver measurable energy and cost savings. The position requires hands-on problem-solving, strong project execution skills, and a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in a heavy manufacturing environment.
POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
To drive measurable reductions in energy consumption and operational costs by identifying technical opportunities, executing high-impact energy projects, and optimizing industrial systems across iron and steel manufacturing facilities. The Energy Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the plant's energy strategy through detailed system evaluations, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and alignment with energy management objectives. This role ensures that energy efficiency is embedded in day-to-day operations, capital projects, and long-term sustainability goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related degree.
Three years' experience working on energy conservation projects and Energy Management Systems certified to the ISO 50001 standard
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical industrial systems, such as: Thermal Processes, Compressed Air, Dust Collection, Air Make-up units, Pumps and Fans.
Ability to understand/read utility bills, engineering drawings and process diagrams.
Project Management skills in leading large multiple discipline projects.
Analytical skills in analyzing data and providing solutions.
Effective leader with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in the advanced features of Microsoft Office products.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience overseeing energy consumption and utility costs for an organization
Four years' experience working on energy conservation projects and Energy Management Systems certified to the ISO 50001 standard
Prior experience in Continuous Improvement and/or Six Sigma projects.
Experience with steel mill operations and maintenance.
Skilled in a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Lead multiple projects with a variety of teams internally and external to Charter with significant impacts to multiple areas.
Assist in maintaining Charter Steel's Certified Energy Management System (EnMS)
Research emerging technologies and assess the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of alternative or renewable energy solutions.
Collaborate with state and federal agencies to leverage training, funding, and other resources to enhance energy efficiency efforts.
