New Product Introduction / Contract Review / Change Management: * Review and evaluation of customer drawing and specification requirements directly impacting metallurgical product integrity and manufacturing practices * Develops quality plans and documentation requirements to evaluate metallurgical integrity of forged product during the manufacturing process * Qualifies incoming orders to ensure specification compliance for metallurgical/special processes / complete review as quality representative * Ensure metallurgical properties through design and communication of forge, heat treat, testing, and other manufacturing instructions * Prepares first article / metallurgical qualification approval documentation Test Failure / Thermal Non-Conformance Review and Analysis: * Disposition metallurgically non-conforming material and performs root cause correction action analysis * Negotiate concessions with customers for disposition of non-conforming parts * Develop corrective action processes and continuous improvement programs for metallurgical integrity of forged product Laboratory / Production Support: * Conducts internal and external quality audits of metallurgical / special processes * Lab evaluation including metallography and NDT micro examination * Orchestrating maintenance and calibration of lab equipment with internal and external resources * Ensuring proper heat treatment through daily review of processing records * Evaluating forge and heat treat furnace performance versus pyrometry requirements including detailed review of critical product * Responsible for required calibrations per customer standards for forge and heat treat furnaces, including outsourced pyrometry work * Preparing for forge and heat treatment portions of customer / 3rd party audits * Confers with Manufacturing and Engineering personnel in planning, scheduling, coordinating and directing quality / metallurgical evaluation activities to ensure conformance to customer requirements and specifications * Incoming raw material verification / release and product testing release

    Job Description Production Engineer-Japanese English Bilingual Fredericktown, OH Assist in new model activities from the product developmental stage to determine product design, drawing, process, layout, quality requirement, etc. Upon mass production, optimize production processes for maximum efficiency through the analysis of process/material flow, downtime and scrap reports, capacity studies, and new technology. This includes hands on troubleshooting, root cause analysis of recurring issues, research of new technology, etc. Duties are performed under general supervision and may require frequent conferences concerning progress and difficulties. Duties and responsibilities: Technical expert of intended machine and part function in assigned working area(s) Lead investigation of existing manufacturing equipment improvements related to: safety, quality, efficiency, capacity, layout, etc. Ensure manufacturing processes meet capability requirements through statistical analysis of dimensional inspection Lead the analysis of manufacturing problems to identify and eliminate the root cause of equipment concerns Lead New Model activity as assigned including: equipment installation, production trials, customer approval, and technical training May work directly with and manage outside contractors Support new technology development including: planning, investigating, scheduling, testing, and enhancement of existing production methods Interface with machines through PLC, HMI, NC, or Robot controllers to effectively maintain and modify programs as necessary Develop presentations using appropriate graphs and charts to effectively communicate intended subject matter Effectively communicate across all levels of the organization Develop and manage business plan projects Maintain Document and Program (NC, PLC, HMI, Robot, etc.) control in accordance with QMS requirements May design jigs, fixtures, or tooling using Catia or similar software to produce appropriate drawings using engineering best practices May maintain, create, or modify plant layout in AutoCAD Perform administrative tasks in setting objectives or concepts for new product specifications and accomplish any relevant tasks assigned in this matter Perform administrative tasks in analyzing cost and realizing profitability for new product development Have high-level understanding of all important customer event dates as well as deadline to perform administrative tasks to carrying out internal developmental plan Understand product functions and assist in determining manufacturing methods and process layout, and process details Understand product functions and assist in creating and developing drawings to secure such features (internal and external drawing development) Understand product functions and assist in setting quality specifications to secure such features (from the development stage) May manage direct reports Maintain a high level of housekeeping (COP) Provides leadership and support to improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, and cost) and increase your associates skills and capabilities. All other duties as assigned Desired Qualifications: 1. Education Associate Degree or Higher: in mechanical or electrical engineering or any combination of equivalent experience and education 2.
