Your Job Responsibilities
• Answers the telephone and front window.
• Compounds products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique
• Gathers items needed for miscellaneous requisitions, orders, crash carts, etc. to be checked by pharmacist prior to dispensing.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area; restocks returned medications, restocks work area to appropriate levels.
• Assists in maintaining inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies by notifying purchasing when items become low or increased usage of particular items in observed: utilized the “short list”.
• Maintains drug storage systems through restock and trouble-shooting functions
• Maintains Unit Inspections outside the department
• Makes scheduled rounds to all nursing units for the delivery of medications and the pick-up of discontinued medications and orders as needed.
• Makes non-scheduled rounds to any nursing unit as required.
• Perform charges and credits for floor stock sheets, narcotic sheets, miscellaneous charge slips, and returned medications into computer system.
• Processes medications in assigned area (OR, IV lab, first fill) in preparation of final dispensing by the pharmacist.
• Trains new employees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned

* Assists with ordering, managing and monitoring drug inventory in a fiscally responsible manner and is cognizant of appropriate PAR levels in all medication storage areas.
* Proper management and handling of medications, including investigational and controlled substances (e.g., record maintenance, use of inventory management software, inventory and quality control, proper documentation and discrepancy resolution).
* Efficient operation and ability to troubleshoot specialty machinery, equipment, devices or software necessary in performing job functions (e.g., carousels, automated dispensing cabinets, drug delivery devices, medication testing).
* Generate and analyze reports from the automated dispensing cabinets and compare to administration records.
* Temperature monitoring for room, refrigerators and freezers.
* Competence in rebuilding code cart trays and creating drug kits as needed.
* Ordering, shipping, receiving, retrieving and documenting pharmacy inventory activities. Including Cardinal M&D Webportal, ION ordering, Peoplesoft, Jaggaer and other systems.
* Sterile & Hazardous Compounding activities may include:
* Accurately prepares all sterile admixtures for adults, pediatrics and neonates using proper aseptic technique. Safely handles all hazardous medications, including chemotherapy. Delivers medications in a timely and efficient manner.
* Compounding, packaging and labeling of sterile and non-sterile products in accordance to USP regulations; Able to perform pharmaceutical calculations in execution of tasks.
* Competent in terminal cleaning and utilizing PAPR unit while cleaning underpan of CACI (when applicable).
* Efficient operation of specialty machinery and equipment (e.g. baxa pump, IV compounding system, PharmTrac)
* Special preparations (e.g. CADD delivery device, AIM, elastomeric pumps).
* Proficient with understanding sterility testing systems, USP compounding standards and state board of pharmacy rules as they relate to sterile and hazardous compounding.
* Investigational Drug Services activities may include:
* Proper management and handling of medications, including investigational and controlled substances (e.g., record maintenance, use of inventory management software, inventory and quality control, proper documentation and discrepancy resolution).
* Accurately prepares investigational sterile admixtures for adults, pediatrics and neonates using proper aseptic technique. Safely handles all hazardous medications, including chemotherapy. Delivers medications in a timely and efficient manner.
* General understanding of research study protocols and unique requirements for each study protocol.
* Inventory management for study drug when stored inside and outside areas of IDS.

JOB SUMMARY
Works under supervision of Pharmacy Technician Coordinator, Pharmacy Technician Supervisor or Pharmacy Manager. The Investigational Drug Service (IDS) Advanced Pharmacy Technician will work primarily at the William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital (CUH) Investigational Drug Pharmacy, Aston Investigational Drug Pharmacy and other UT Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center campus in the Dallas area. In addition to performing the duties of an experienced infusion pharmacy technician, duties include: Compounding hazardous sterile and non sterile products; Research drug procurement; Temperature monitoring; Order receipts; Drug accountability; Research billing; Study site initiation visits and monitor visit preparations; and Preparation of research medications.
The Investigational Drug Service Advanced Pharmacy Technician is a full-time (40 hours/week), scheduled primarily day shifts (between 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM) Monday-Friday and, occasionally, on weekends for special projects.

Medication reconciliation technician PRN evening (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm)
Your Job: The Pharmacy Technician will assist in performing paraprofessional tasks that will ensure a high quality of pharmacy service. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.
Your Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Registered technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or Pharmacy student current Pharmacy Intern License
• 1 year of Pharmacy experience required
• Hospital Pharmacy experiences preferred
• Computer skills preferred, but not required
• Ability to maintain confidentially and patient privacy standards set by the department as well as hospital
Your Job Responsibilities
- Performs medication reconciliation by interviewing patients/caregivers
- Works with pharmacists to obtain complete medication lists
- Performs duties listed below as needed
• Answers the telephone and front window.
• Compounds products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique
• Gathers items needed for miscellaneous requisitions, orders, crash carts, etc. to be checked by pharmacist prior to dispensing.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area; restocks returned medications, restocks work area to appropriate levels.
• Assists in maintaining inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies by notifying purchasing when items become low or increased usage of particular items in observed: utilized the “short list”.
• Maintains drug storage systems through restock and trouble-shooting functions
• Maintains Unit Inspections outside the department
• Makes scheduled rounds to all nursing units for the delivery of medications and the pick-up of discontinued medications and orders as needed.
• Makes non-scheduled rounds to any nursing unit as required.
• Perform charges and credits for floor stock sheets, narcotic sheets, miscellaneous charge slips, and returned medications into computer system.
• Processes medications in assigned area (OR, IV lab, first fill) in preparation of final dispensing by the pharmacist.
• Trains new employees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned
