Your Job:
Under the direction of the supervisor of non-invasive cardiology, the echo tem performs all echocardiograms to include 2D, M-Mode, color Doppler, pulse wave Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, transesophageal echocardiogram, stress echo and other related examinations according to established standards an practices at a high technical level.
Your Job Requirements:
Graduate from an associate degree echo program and/or an accredited echo training program preferred High School Diploma and/or GED
Current American Heart Association ACLS preferred
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association required
RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) required
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with equipment including Philips ie33 and EPIQ, TEE probes (to include the sterilization process), and Epic preferred
Typing and computer skills preferred
Work Experience: 1 year hospital experience preferred

• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots all cardiopulmonary equipment such as artificial airways, ventilators, oxygen analyzers, oxygen delivery devices and blood gas analyzers.
• Participates in tasks related to infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs required cleaning and maintenance of all cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
• Utilizes appropriate customer scripting as evidenced by observation and improved patient satisfaction.

Job Summary: The Manager of Violence Injury Prevention identifies the mechanisms of injury and utilizes data to study traumatic injuries, risk behavior, and environmental factors; develops and implements prevention initiatives for incidence and impact reduction of intentional and unintentional violence and injury in the community, region, and/or the State of Texas. This position will supervise the Screening, Brief Intervention Refer to Treatment (SBIRT) and Mental Health SBIRT programs within the Trauma program. The Manager of Violence and Injury Prevention mobilizes resources and partners with community healthcare organizations, law enforcement agencies, schools, faith-based entities, and substance abuse coalitions to develop informed and cost-efficient violence and injury prevention strategies. This position also influences policy, promotes effective prevention legislation, and promotes environmental strategies.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
* Identifies the mechanisms of injury and utilizes data to study traumatic injuries, risk behaviors, and environmental factors to develop and implement initiatives to impact the reduction of intentional and unintentional violence and injury.
* Strengthens community knowledge of violence and injury prevention by participating in local, state, and national conferences relative to scientific evidence-informed research, policies, strategies, and evaluation.
* Promotes community education utilizing the trauma registry data. Organizes and promotes violence and injury prevention initiatives and violence and injury effective initiatives to the community.
* Educates providers by equipping them to transmit skills and knowledge to others.
* Supervises daily Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) for each viable trauma patient admitted 24 hours or longer. Motivational interviewing and providing appropriate referrals and education during the SBIRT process.
* Supervises daily mental health Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (MH SBIRT) for each viable trauma patient admitted 24 hours or longer. Motivational interviewing and providing referrals and education during the MH SBIRT process.
* Utilizes motivational interviewing and trauma-informed language to create a plan with the patient for harm reduction in risk and substance use behavior.
* Acts as an active participant in the planning of the annual trauma conference with national speakers, on topics relevant to specific identified opportunities for improved patient care, as well as strategies for strengthening the trauma system.
* Researches, designs, and speaks on prevention topics in a public format.
* Provides mentorship and leadership to internal nurse residents and external trauma center injury prevention specialists.
* Fosters coalitions and networks to develop community impact goals and strategies related to violence and injury prevention.
* Involved in injury prevention professional organizations and involvement with the state trauma system.
* Engages and participates in national councils and coalitions which have a comprehensive impact on violence and injury prevention.
* Effectively communicates with partners and media.
* Facilitates change related to organizational practices. Adopts change and influences norms to reduce violence and injury within JPS Health Network.
* Participates with Community Affairs and Communications Departments to provide content for messaging throughout the district.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related discipline.
* 5 years of relevant experience in health education, trauma services, community prevention programs, program development, community outreach, injury prevention, behavioral health, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree from an accredited college or University.
* 5 plus years of work experience in Injury Prevention, including program development related to public health or hospital safety.
