Job Summary and Qualifications
MedicalAssistant Certified will perform diversified clinical and administrative support duties. The MedicalAssistant will utilize skills in performing technical skills and support skills for the nursing staff in order to care for the patient in an effective and efficient manner.
What you will do in this role:
* Performs routine duties in caring for outpatient clinic patients as directed by the Registered Nurse and is able to demonstrate appropriate skills and/or competencies
* Screens and collects data from patients, including patient histories. Assists with patient discharge preparations as instructed by RN. Reports and documents pertinent information such as vital signs, weights.
* Calls and/or faxes prescription refills to the pharmacy following office protocols and/or after approval from physician. Retrieves medication and supplies from hospital departments and transports to the clinic as directed by the RN.
* Maintains confidentiality of patient information and records at all times.
* Performs Electrocardiograms, Non-invasive hemodynamic testing, vital signs, weights, phlebotomy, removes sutures/staples, simple dressing changes (clean and dry, sterile), assist with sterile procedures, simple, non-sterile dressings, and removes peripheral IV's, records response to treatments and reports pertinent information to appropriate RN. Obtains and labels specimens from wounds, Guiac stool specimens, Urine and sputum collection in cups, blood collection and transports specimens to lab as directed.
* Provides assistance to other nursing personnel as needed. Assists with the orientation of new personnel as appropriate. Runs errands, stocks examination rooms, maintains cleanliness of patient rooms, and triage area on a daily basis. Performs other duties as delegated by the RN
What qualifications you will need:
* Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required
* Experience: 2-3 years in the medical field as a MedicalAssistant or Certified Nurse Aide preferred.

Position Summary:
The Inpatient Phlebotomist is responsible for performing phlebotomy on inpatients including adults, adolescents, and infants with a focus on patient care, and positive communication with patients, hospital staff and co-workers conducting laboratory tests which provide information to physicians for the diagnosis, prevention or treatment of diseases in patients.

The MedicalAssistant provides clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers' compensation settings. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times
• Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations
• Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgency
• Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed
• Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details
• Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision
• Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding
• Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed
WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE?
Full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

Role Description:
Oak Street Health takes a team-based approach to providing outstanding patient care. Care teams are responsible for delivering excellent, high-touch, primary care, and coordinating the care of our patients throughout the healthcare delivery system.
MedicalAssistants are an important part of our Care Teams. High levels of flexibility, energy, attention to detail, and problem-solving are required to be successful. MedicalAssistants are expected to build relationships with Oak Street Health members. MedicalAssistants work closely and collaboratively with their teammates to greet and room Oak Street Health patients. MedicalAssistants are expected to assist in assessing a patient's health conditions, including performing routine diagnostic testing during appointments.
Core Responsibilities:
Ensure efficient patient flow by rooming patients in a timely manner and assisting the provider with staying timely on their schedule
Deliver an exceptional patient experience, and help patients prepare for their provider visit
Obtain vital signs, chief complaints and review medications
Deliver patient screenings per protocols
Order supplies and stock exam rooms
Conduct routine quality control checks, including infection control measures, equipment QAs, and check for expired medication and supplies
Ensure exam rooms are clean, safe, and ready for patient visits
Under direction of an RN, provider and/or protocol, provide telephonic support to patients
Under direction of an RN or Provider, offer MA appropriate “visits,” such as administering vaccinations and performing procedures, including but not limited to: ABI, spirometry, EKGs, etc.
Perform waived laboratory testing
Schedule diagnostic testing
Apply or assist with the application of durable medical equipment
Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations

What are we looking for?
3+ years in a MedicalAssistant role
CPR Certification required
MedicalAssistant certification or registration required. Over 5 years of applicable, consecutive MedicalAssistant experience may substitute for this requirement
EMR experience and proficiency required
2+ years of experience working with geriatric patients is preferred
Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred
Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
Demonstrates problem-solving skills, accountability, and a flexible, positive attitude
Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by people in the communities we serve (where necessary and indicated in Job title)

The typical pay range for this role is:

Job Summary and Qualifications
