A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) between 6:00AM - 8:00PM, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements. This caregiver will work an average of 32 hours per week.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
* Prepare quality food items in accordance with production sheets, recipes and menus.
* Operate kitchen equipment.
* Prepare food on the grill, in ovens or using an induction stove.
* Prepare cold food items, vegetables, salad mixes and sandwich spreads.
* Selecting, measuring, grinding, slicing and mixing ingredients.
* Assist the cook and nutrition assistants.
* Participate in the process of preparing food.
* Assist in the assembly of food for final preparation.
* Assemble, transport and pick up patient trays to and from patient rooms.
* Assist in preparing, setting up, serving and cleaning up special dinners and luncheons.
* Follow proper sanitation procedures to produce, maintain, and leave a clean, sanitized, and organized work area.
* Practice proper food handling techniques and the "clean as you go" policy.
* Organize supplies and food products.
* Operate, load and unload the dishwasher.
* Report any failure or malfunction of equipment or utility (e.g., gas, electric, water, steam) to a supervisory person
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

* Ability to withstand changes in work environment temperatures (hot kitchen to cooler)
